Can we have a thread about all the new HMDs coming out whether VR, AR or MR?I'm looking for something that works with Linux/Nvidia, has no ZOGware from Meta, and lets me have a virtual monitor/desktop, plus Virta-a-mate support for raping waifus.

>>101221149Shit time to be buying a headset right now if you're trying to avoid slopware from Meta. Quest 3 is objectively the best headset on the market right now. Index is a close second, but it's pretty ancient, and once you go with inside out tracking it's hard to go back to base stations. I think HTC has gone enterprise, I haven't heard much about their sets. Probably quality but expensive. Apple is Apple. Anything else like chinaslop is a gamble, you'd need to do your own research.

>>101222619Linux and VR don't get along well. Not only are many games not Linux compatible, many headsets don't come with Linux drivers. I say this as a windows user though, I'm honestly not sure how well this would work, but it logically makes sense to try.
