nobody ITT has ever actually owned a gaming laptopOP, laptops have advanced a lot in the last decade or so. cooling is much better, and we have frame generation and upscaling nowthere are obviously still some issues like battery life and thermal performance on the extreme end (don't buy a xx90 series laptop), but it's nowhere near as bad as you'd expect if your only exposure to gaming laptops was 15 years ago
