Check out https://odoo-community.org/ and https://github.com/OCA for (relatively high-quality) FOSS third-party modules. They should have alternatives for all the essentials, we ran most of our customers with zero proprietary modules.
Looks like they have forks of the accounting modules from before they went proprietary.
