did you have to convince your parents to buy you a ps2? ive heard that kids back then got their parents to get one because of the dvd player functionality but im a dumbass
>>
>>101230357
98-XP era was the most fun. And I started with MSDos v3.3.

It's better than most zoomers, I'll give you that
>>
>>101230404
i got it for christmas, neither of my parents are into technology or video so the ps2 was the first dvd player in the house, but they never borrowed it to play movies, they were content with vhs

>>101230458
can't complain, best time for the internet imo, besides the speeds of course
>>

oh i did have to convince my parents to get a computer/internet connection
looking back i do wonder how that actually happened, i mean they basically never used it. my mum not at all and my dad just for a couple of games. there wasn't really such a thing as a cheap computer even in 1999, that pretty average dell was like $2,000 (with monitor and printer)
>>
>>101230357
This except XP is cringe and real niggaz used 2000.
>>
>>101230611
i switched to xp fairly late, in 2004. i held off deliberately because xp early on was bloated as fuck and didn't really add anything over 98SE
the reason i switched was because i got a dvd drive, and so now had a use for files larger than 4GiB

well to be fair that's new zealand dollars, so maybe halve that for us dollars
>>
Why is this whole board just nostalgia bait? Where is the actual “technology” discussion?
>>
>>101230659
go bother pedoposters, anon.
leave our nostalgia alone.
at least its somewhat tech related
>>
>>101230659
talking about what you had/wanted/etc technology-wise from your childhood is more on-topic than a lot of threads

>>101230677

New technology doesn't do anything new besides spy on us more efficiently and muddle human interaction.
