Wearable tech should be made of fabric mainly. Making headphones from plastic does not support the intended usecase in any way and results in a product which is clunky to use. I should be able to lay down in bed comfortably with my head on the pillow while having my headphones on. I should be able to crumple and stuff my headset into my pocket like a beanie, because headphones are supposed to be easily portable. There is no reason why headphones or other wearable tech should be made of plastic or other hard materials.
