I know that everyone shit talks open source for looking ugly, but I kinda like it.

Whenever people try to "Beautify" their nvims and terminals, I always think it looks like ass imo.

ZorinOS maybe. It's goals are similar to Mint's (having a traditional desktop layout that is as easy to use as possible) but uses a tweaked version fo GNOME with its own theme instead of Cinnamon (which you find ugly).

Most ""distros"" are just themed DEs. In reality there are only 10 or so actual proper GNU/Linux distributions which are actively maintained.
