How much idle battery drain is too much? One is basically an upgrade of 4g and uses the same bands, that's cheap and basically all new phones supprt it. The other is 5g MM wave. Which costs like $50-$100 to add to a phone and really only has towers in some major cities because they have to put up a new antenna every 500 feet or so to get proper coverage.
5g MM wave is the super fast shit that they used to advertise 5g

If you have TWRP then you can flash the magisk apk like a normal flashable zip and it will do everything for you.

Galaxy A55 or Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus?

On paper the Redmi is better at everything except the camera/longevity but for some reason I can't bring myself to pick it. WHAT SHOULD I DO!?

It runs fine. I wanted to use it for drawing but even when I'm not in Dex it seems like lag's an issue and I'm not alone in this since a quick search on a few engines produces hundreds of results of the same complaints.
I just bit the bullet and got an sp9. If I don't put linux on it then whatever I'll use one of the IoT meme/cope windows flavours since I only intend on drawing with it anyway but had no interest in embarrassing myself by being seen with a copilot button.
If you don't intend on using a pen then you should be good but even if you did it's not bad enough to affect notes which are often vector-based anyhow.

Having a problem with my Moto G5, maybe someone here can guide me in the right direction. I don't know why it suddenly stopped handling SIM cards correctly

Been using it for years with no problems, but this morning I was unable to make phone calls. I was still connected to AT&T, and could still use phone data though. I then tried taking it off Automatic network picking, and saw if I couldn't get a connection to AT&T manually - it failed saying that my SIM card didn't allow connection to it. However, I already tested the SIM in another AT&T phone and it works just fine. I swapped a known-good SIM and put it in this phone, and I had the same problem as before.

So now I'm stuck unable to use phone data. I already reset network settings. Anything else to try? I already blew air into the SIM card slot to make sure there was no dust. Is this something that I might have to take it to the shop over? Clueless as to what might even be the cause

No they absolutely are not. My pixel 3 I had for like 3 years just bricked last night while I was charging it. Thousands of pixel users if not more have had a similar issue with their pixel just bricking one day going up to Pixel 8's. Most recently a bunch of Pixel 6 users had their phone brick. my pixel 3 was in excellent condition and never had any issues besides a couple of times freezing up. I only used it inside of an air conditioned environment. There is some talk on pixel forums about how Google does this on purpose for older pixel phones to get you to buy a new one. Some people have been able to fix the issue if they had unlocked the bootloader before it happened. Most of the bricked phones go into ESL mode and can't be fixed because Google won't give repair shops access to the Quacomm flashing tool and firmware files...so you're screwed. Only if you have a warranty with Google they might replace it if it's a newer phone.
