1) RED doesnt have a great library, it has mostly shit nobody is interested in let alone snatches
2) People dont upload to RED because of its economy, they do because of the invite forum. You close that and nobody uploads shit to RED anymore because the economy doesnt matter anymore, nobody wants to actually use that site.
3) There are trackers like PTP and KG that have a considerably more impressive library (for their respective niches), yet they also have piss easy economies that people simply like to contribute to. The idea that an economy needs to be hard for people to want to contribute to it is pants on head retarded. If you tracker isnt shit, people will up no matter what.

Bottomline is that RED is nothing but PTPs/HDBs/the cabals recruitment forum. It exists for that reason exclusively. It doesnt exist as a tracker, let alone a community. It how the cabal scouts people who have no friends/cant get anyone to invite them to the trackers people actually want to use.

Of course, not everybody needs to upload music they personally like. It is enough if someone else, hopefully will like it. Those lowest quality compilations are already banned.
People can access the catalog, if they contribute, and use the site when they issue tokens, and take advantage of freeload events. But yes, it is harder than on other trackers, but possible.

>>101381767
1) It has things I want
2) Is this an everybody is streaming now, there is no need for music trackers argument?
3) Well okay. You have tracker A where only people who like to upload upload. Then you have tracker B, where in addition to the previous group, some more people are forced into uploading. Which one is better? Which one will have more uploaders, and more content? The people who like to upload will upload anyway, and the people who don't want to initially, can be incentivized to do so.

Having said that, I recognize that there is 2 different ways to drive activity on a tracker.
One is to use force, and hard ratios. This is what RED does.
The other one is to have a great community, where people are compelled to contribute, like AB, PTP, BTN and all except RED basically. Which one is better? On a tracker where basically any neon can get into, using force seems the better way, because they don't yet understand the customs of private trackers of seeding forever, but after they survive RED, and get into PTP, they will continue to do whatever they did on RED (upload and seed) there too, so PTP doesn't have to use "force".

Although you cannot say that PTP wouldn't have an even greater movie collection, if the economy was a bit tighter there. I upload there sometimes, if a movie already has an IMDB page. If it doesn't, and I would have to search and fill out the artist list manually, I rarely bother, because it's not needed for me to use the site. And that is -1 upload right there.

Kek, yea. And if they had REDs economy nobody would use it and you could add that upload to a site with 20% of the current library. I am TK on PTP and Bounty Hunter on KG, Legend on AB as well, and I will never upload a single torrent to RED. And that's not cause I don't have music I could share. I do it out of principle. That's -1000 uploads right there.

It was stated once that for a movie tracker the BP system makes sense, for
a music tracker it is not needed, because there are vast amounts of music, so
it should be easier to find something to upload.
And in my opinion the user asking for BP doesn't want that RED becomes better.
He/She just wants to get everything, and I bet this only to then put it to whatever
other tracker.

CAPZLOK maintains an extensive library of Encodes and Remuxes for Movies, TV Shows, and Anime. This library is regularly updated with HD/4K 0Day releases, including obscure cinema, and is accompanied by an active request filling system overseen by experienced cinephiles.

We strictly prioritize the best existing P2P releases for a Movie/Show (in its native language). If you favor bit-starved (mini encodes) or dubbed releases, this community isn't suitable for you.

It will be expected that you have a general awareness of Video Formats, P2P Releases, and a desire to acquire additional knowledge. In addition, you are required to have a basic understanding of Usenet and Torrent terminologies. Preference will be given to applicants who usually upload their personal releases or consume obscure media.

You must address all the questions that are asked once you apply. Furthermore, don't bother applying if you do not intend to use your sources (trackers/indexers, etc.) or be active in the community.

RED has more torrents than any other private tracker.

Having a good library means also having stuff most people are not interested in.

I know books2 sort of was, but was bibliotik itself brought up? I thought they just used the Archivist's dump without knowing exactly where it came from, and BiB closed down because of fear of scrapers like archivist before gpt used the archivist's dump for training data.

nothing because I was done with joining the cabal before covid
>>
>took me a year to accumulate 10 GB upload on red
its over for me isnt it? i dont know how to generate upload on that fucking site.
seeding is useless, i get virtually nothing from the ~500 torrents im seeding all day every day.
transcoding flacs into mp3s isnt worth it because no one downloads them anyways.
uploading deezer trash isnt worth it because there isnt that much new content for everyone to post. every couple weeks i check to see if i find anything that hasnt been uploaded yet and most of it is already up. and even when i do upload something, its a gamble as to whether itll be dead in the water because no one cares about it, or ill get at most 1:1 ratio thanks to a sneedbox autosnatching, then seeding to all the other autosnatchers, while i get only 1x the upload worth.
do i really have to pay up for some retarded sneedbox?

also, fuck merit tokens. getting tokens itself is fine, but having an expiry date is retarded. it just pressures me into spending them as quickly as possible, instead of holding out for large uploads that it would be actually useful on.

and the worst thing, i cant even use the fucking site for its intended purpose, downloading music, because id just tank my ratio.
the uploads arent even in good condition either.
i downloaded a single bands discography and hand to spend hours of manual editing, bringing all the formatting of the files in line with each other, fixing incompatibilities with my media player, etc.
ill be happy once i get on the invite forums and can move on.
in hindsight, it wouldve probably been easier to go through MAM instead, but now im too deep in to start from scratch
>>
>>101393882
freeload with arbitrary rules on what is and isnt freeload. sure, i could download a bunch, but not what i wanted. and having all that data i dont care about on my drive doesnt do anything for me either, because seeding is pretty much pointless unless you have top 1% upload speeds.
>>
>>101394886
Just move on to one of the infinite options instead like everyone else: soulseek, telegram bots, ops, rutracker, spotify. Whatever works best for you. No need to slave yourself with RED in 202X
>>
>>101394886

Lol then (in like a year) you will find out that most official recruiters don't accept people who are merely power users.

You have bad internet?

I am doing fine with 100/100
>>
>>101394886
There isn't a direct path from MAM. You'd have to join through OPS which now requires two years account age in MAM.
>>
>>101394504
i've been watching you guys from the top of the /pyramid/ since 2017
>>
>>101394954

I got like 20 GiB of upload that didn't count during the freeload event.

I used merit tokens for stuff that wasn't marked as freeload (or just regular download).

You can save large torrents you want for future merit tokens if you have ratio troubles.
>>
When do you think PTP will hit its usercap?
>>
>>101395107

You can get a false sense of power by being able to invite people to desireable tracker(s).

You cannot really use that power though due to how strict cabal trackers are with invites.

contribute what exactly? shit that literally no one cares about except autosnatchers that look for anything current year in flac format?
>>
>>101396756
The buffer you get from racing. With the proper on the right server cluster you will always upload more than what you download.
>>101396882
That's because that's what RED is and how everybody treats it. Which is why 99% of users in higher classes use scripts to upload crap from Deezer that nobody wants.

And they could fix all of that by simply implementing a system like HDB where you cannot get more than a certain upload from a torrent during the first few hours unless you are the uploader yourself.
With that alone you will destroy most people's strategy for the site and force people to actually use it as it was intended
>>
>>101396989
i feel like you need to already own all that shit before the event starts to get any benefit out of it.
out of all the torrents im seeding, less than half have any upload on them and maybe a quarter has a ratio of 0.01 or higher.
also, how often do they even do those events? i think it was around christmas/new years, so i assume once a year?
on trackers like bakabt you get multiple per year, and not some gay freeload, but actual freelech.
and you get so much more traffic that i could easily accumulate a good ratio without ever making my own uploads, and all that while i didnt have my own public IP address. meaning i wasnt even connectable by RED standards, where my attempts at making my own uploads where thwarted until i could get my ISP to give me a public IP.
>>
>>101396995

If you want to upload something for any private tracker without industry connections you're inevitably relegated to "shit nobody cares about"
>>
>>101397060

>>101397060
Not at all. You can organize and upload roms on GGn as well as updated home rips and gog drmfree files.
You can contribute to any movie/tv tracker with encodes or full discs for stuff.
RED is one of the few trackers where contributing is barely rewarded but being a complete parasite that uploads garbage is.
>>
>>101397090
aight, then ill just stop seeding. i just upload trash no one cares about, hope for some autosnatcher to give me the 1:1 ratio on that particular upload, then dump it and move on, generating upload while "contributing" oh so valuable content. would like to see how quickly trackers would crumble if everyone operated like that

its crazy how red has a whole section for things you can do to improve the site's content without actually finding new uploads of your own, yet that shit is not worth anyones time because you get jack shit for it.
they could simply hand out merit tokens for doing these tasks and the site would already improve drastically.
but its not actually about contributing. if anyone cared about contribution to this site, then the current system wouldve been overhauled a long time ago. as of now its nothing but a dumping ground for shit no one cares about and acting as a filter for getting onto the invite forums.

tbf, RED is the only tracker where I don't upload stuff, it's pointless as my buffer would still be in the negative even when I find stuff to upload here and there, why would I want to make the library bigger if I can't dl most the content I want, unlike let's say PTP/BTN/AB/HDB. /hsg/ are a bunch of tools, so I figure some of you might know better on this topic. I'm planning to finally build a NAS to handle media files (just raw data streaming, not actual transcoding), and I want to also use it to handle all my torrent stuff if possible. It's all actual hardware, not some Synology BS, so I can partition, and run whatever I want on it. Does anyone have a guide for this, or at least point me in the right direction for OS/software/etc? Tips on easy remote access and other setup things?
>>
>>101430891
if you are not buying a premade nas solution, but building your own, you should already know these things.
just install some linux on it you like, install a bittorrent client, jellyfin, sshd for remote access, configure it, and it's good to go.
I run arch-like linux install + zfs + jellyfin for music + lighttpd for other files + ssh to access it.

there's a few "convoluted scripts pretending to be OS's" OS's they bring up on the seedboxes subreddit, could do that if you're both lazy and not autistic enough to want to fiddle with the shit they hardcode and whatnot.
Or you could just use docker-compose and run containers for torrent client, arrs, indexer shit, etc. all in one network, set it and forget it. (the set it part will likely be a bit of a pain in the ass)

Not sure if it matters, but I'm not looking to automate it grabbing torrents, just have it run the client and be able to go in and add torrents manually.

oh and to extra spell it out, use some flavor of linux OS, and use tailscale for remote access (wireguard or something else works too but tailscale is just too easy). Should probably read the archwiki when it comes to partitioning and filesystem shit, I just use ext4 cause I'm too lazy to do elsewise.

Not that guy, but have you or anyone else had experience running the official qbittorrent-nox docker image? Seems to be somewhat new, so I was wondering how good it was
