Uh guise, what happened to laptop connect cards for the internet?
How do you get internet on your laptop while you travel nowadays?
I wanna get a Linux (is Ubuntu great?) ready laptop and I'd like to know.

public wifi
sim card slot
phone hotspot
mobile hotspot
>>
Pretty much every smartphone has tethering or a hotspot feature.
They also still sell mobile hotspots in the same places they sell burner phones

Connect it to your phone's WiFi hot spot. Some laptops also have cellular modems built in.
Ubuntu is okay, Mint and KDE Neon is a bit better.

Also how was that rock you've been living under? Can I go there now that you're not using it?

Thanks for the info.
Why is Mint better than Ubuntu?

Yes you can go there, the rock is warmed up and ready for you.

Most business laptops started having cell modems built in so you only needed to add a simcard instead of the bulky dongle. Wifi also lessened the need.

Generally you just use wifi to tether your laptop to your phone. You get a sim card for your laptop if you absolutely need data all the time.

You can Bluetooth tether too which uses less power than wifi but transfer rate is shit, and you can use wired tethering but it will drain your laptop battery if it's charging your phone.
