its very, very hard to make looks, functionality, durability and cost meet at a point where it's even worth thinking about producing something like that. I've been working on an android on and off for a couple years now and its the most challenging thing I've ever done. Especially connecting silicone to actuators (metal gear RC servos and nema steppers pulling bowdens in my case) in a way that remotely mimics real skin and muscles.

Im also waiting on a camera that can fit in a fake eye with at least 720p resolution and not cost several grand a pop (current ones are meant for medical endoscopes and are extremely expensive)

The only robot I've seen to not completely fuck it up is amica

That being said, I've since acquired a wonderful gf and haven't been as motivated to continue work on this
