Mint and Kubuntu.
Mint because it just werks the most, is the most complete out of the box and the desktop environment is serviceable.
Kubuntu has the better desktop and a stable version of it that won't introduce new issues, but you may need to tweak it a bit.

Understandable. After 8 years of programming my github account is still empty. I think some artists are taking their artwork down everywhere around the internet too. LLMs are indirectly creating a shadow economy. Hard to say if that's a good or a bad thing for know, at least.

Everything just werks, easy minimal install.
Don't have to worry about packages breaking every time I update or corpo bs.

Debian is a very good choice. It's actually my second distro in line after Ubuntu LTS, in case snaps become too intrusive and I have to switch to a familiar system. Stability rocks over bleeding edge :)
