What's your favorite distro and why? For me it's stock ubuntu with an ubuntu pro subscription because it's the prettiest, most stable distro.
Mint and Kubuntu.Mint because it just werks the most, is the most complete out of the box and the desktop environment is serviceable.Kubuntu has the better desktop and a stable version of it that won't introduce new issues, but you may need to tweak it a bit.
>>101544885none. whatever works for me at the momenti run fedora 32 on my """workstation"""fedora 40 on my dtand ubuntu on an apple when i need the dt to be airgapped + other lightweight stuff
>>101544885>>101544920(cont.)fed 40 is a bloddy fucking mess thomy disappointment is ruined, and my day, immeasurable
>>101544920Why would you need an airgap if you aren't a government agency tho? Seems kinda overkill.
>>101544944i 100% dont want to open source my codeso i make it so that its physically impossibleits nothing exceptional, its more a matter of principle than anything else
>>101544944>>101544963>principleslike github.the second i learned about it going to microsoft is stopped using it.i believe i used it once or twice as temporary cloud storage but thats iti didnt think about ai specifically but i knew there was gonna be some shitfuckery involved in thatlo and behold- copilot;the xyz thing.spectre meltdown + god only know what else were missingfuck that noiseno snooping in my codeget fucking bent
>>101544963>>101545083Understandable. After 8 years of programming my github account is still empty. I think some artists are taking their artwork down everywhere around the internet too. LLMs are indirectly creating a shadow economy. Hard to say if that's a good or a bad thing for know, at least.
DebianEverything just werks, easy minimal install.Don't have to worry about packages breaking every time I update or corpo bs.
>>101545129>Hard to say if that's a good or a bad thing for know, at least.time will tellor there will be a paradigm shift in ai and we will see it get new capabilitieswe will adjust againbut the situation wont coalesce long enough for the effects of the actions taken today to reveal their full effects
>>101545134Debian is a very good choice. It's actually my second distro in line after Ubuntu LTS, in case snaps become too intrusive and I have to switch to a familiar system. Stability rocks over bleeding edge :)
>>101544944My PC is broken so airgaps selfs own sometimes.>>101544920What happened to Fedora 40 that made Fedora bad to you? Will it come in RHEL too?>>101545058I read 1 chapter of this manga like 5 years ago and never again. I am not tranny. I would post an artwork of it but I think they are hiding and embedding things into the pictures with steganography userscripts that only they know about.
>>101545393>Will it come in RHEL too?i have no idea>What happened to Fedora 40 that made Fedora bad to you?bugs in gnomebugs with the gpu driverbut if gnome has a similar role to x11 it has control over the driverso mostly gnome
>>101545418>so mostly gnomethen mostly gnomealso they removed the option to force x11 from the login somewhere between 32 and 40it would have been handy todayi need to reboot twice for some reason to clear the bug
>>101544885My favorite distro is Windows 11 Pro with genuine license that I paid 200 USD my my hp computer. It's so comfy bros, it just works.
