How much storage do you need in a gaming pc?
Like 2 or 3
enough to store the games you play frequently
i have 5TB and it's complete overkill even with the fact that i seed a ton of shit
>>101549412also how the hell have you almost filled a 15TB drive with just movieseven with full bluray remuxes there aren't enough good movies for that
>>101549391supertuxkart is less than 5G so around that
>>101549422There are a lot of good adult movies.
>>101549558no there are notyou sick retard
I have a 50TB ZFS NAS where I keep everything that's not a game I can just re-download
>>101549623>I don't therefore nobody else willPrime logic there bud
>>101549662That's atleast two(2) harddrives, keep up the good work!
>>101549733>50 TB NAS>2 harddrivesHow is the weather in 2028?
>>101549391>in a gaming pcI got a 2TB SSD for playing in mine Thinking about adding a 10TB HDD for storage of everything but I can't be arsed and don't see the point
>>101549751There are more than 30TB harddrives in enterprise testing right now, you can buy 20TB+ drives easily off ebay. Of course your backup server would be separate from your actual nas
>>10154975160TB HDDs coming this year only $7000 a good deal imo
>>101549763>Of course your backup server would be separate from your actual nasI don't have enough free cash flow to build a backup to my NAS yetDrives are expensive as fuck
>>101549778just buy those used hgst enterprise drives for backup storage $70 for 10TB
1TB is probably enough if you mostly play just a few games at a time and uninstall anything you're not actively playing (easily manageable with something like Steam). Although most would probably be better off having an additional 2TB SSD for game storage that's separate from their OS drive so they aren't constantly uninstalling/re-installing stuff. If you want to archive lots of stuff so you don't have to redownload everything again, you'd probably be better off setting up a dedicated NAS with RAID and connecting to it on your local network.
>>101549792Gotta buy like 12 of those then because I do NOT trust 2nd hand drives
>>101549391You have backups of all of this and don't just keep everything on 8 year old refurbished hdd's right anon?
>>101549391>A 256GB ssd would suffice.
