My Pixel 4a 5G still gets updates from Graphene. I intend on using this phone until the updates stop flowing and will get a newer pixel with even longer window of software/firmware updates.

Your only real options when it comes to smartphones is either iPhone or Pixel. Other Android phone manufacturers don't care to update the OS leaving these phones vulnerable unless you're lucky enough to own a phone that can use an alternative OS. It's Google's fault for leaving phone manufacturers to handle the responsibility of updating Android which is something they won't do
