>>
Damn. That sucks.
>>

What do you mean remove it? If you want to disable it just type:
>xrandr --output None-1-1 --off

>Well I switched to Linux after Crowd Strike.
that's because you're fucking retarded and don't know how to use an operating system you're on. you're solution to a minor problem is to switch your entire operating system
>after Crowd Strike
what does this mean? why would you switch your operating system because of software that you don't even have installed? also, what do you mean by after crowdstrike? crowdstrike has been around for a long long time.
>But Now i can't remove this monitor, no matter what.
unplug it, dumbfuck
>>
>>101555013
Doesn't work, Linux is broken. Never had this problem on Windows

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=288009

it seems to be some sort of nvidia ghost monitor. Or is it? maybe someone is watching you from real monitor by SSH tunneled. kek
>>
>>101554968
You must have a service running that is enabling your monitor. Maybe systemd. Do this

journalctl -xe | grep -i "monitor"

You can try the same with "display" instead. Or do this in one terminal:

xrandr --verbose

Then open a second terminal (ctrl, alt, t) and try to disconnect that None monitor, and it should log something on the first terminal.
>>
You all are big meanies, I had to delete some simpledrm device and log back in. This is why nobody wants to use Linux, you're all very big mean and mad all the time
>>
>>101554902
not op, just an interrupting anon
I have a laptop that I connect to a external display (tv) and prefer the laptop display to be off (it's an old laptop, the cpu and graphics struggle with 2 displays TMI).
>>
>>101555218
post the fucking solution you used you nigger
some other retard may encounter the same issue
then kill yourself
>>
>>101555291
It uses some gay ass driver to fallback if the nvidiajeet driver doesn't work. You rm /dev/dri/card0 and then log back in
>>
>>101555218
There's an old saying (wrong & derogatory but exists) "those who can't DO, teach." Linux users being assholes to newbs are folks that are willing to answer questions but would prefer not to. They're DO'ers. It's like stopping an auto mechanic in the middle of work to ask what tires I should buy.

The Crowdstrike reference is distracting.
You're using GNU/Linux and have a display issue? How can we help?

>>

There are do-er's that are excellent teachers. Most prefer to just do there own tasks at their skill level and can't (or won't) put themselves in the perspective of a beginner. It seems to be a talent some have and others do not. The saying is used by those that can't or won't, and its just not true.
