Are supermicro gaming motherboards any good?
>>
>>101560966
the font next to the pcie slot screams cheap and chinese, idk OP
>>
>>101561204
They spend the money on high quality components instead of libtards with art degrees
>>
>>101560966
considering they can't even make server boards that don't shoot 1.5v's 24/7 into i9's, no, they don't. they are worse than normal consumer line
>>
I dunno. I mean hell they're known as a server oriented company. Looks to me they should stick with what got them that reputation. Industry is littered with dead companies that tried to branch out from what they were good at. All it takes is one massive fuck up and the rep is gone.
>>
>>101560966
i highly doubt they have good software team anon. memory is very picky and tricky. you need to test A LOT of xmp kits and i doubt they spend the time because i don't think they have enough personnel. servers don't care about high performance tweaking unlike consumer line does.
>>
>>101561263
They didn't bother to use the Intel supplied VTT tool to properly calibrate load lines and instead went with the maximum default of 1.1 / 1.1 on the AC / DC lines. Embarrassing as not even Asus, Gigabyte, MSI, ASRock, etc were that fucking lazy.
>>
>>101561266
DFI LanParty should make a comeback
>>
>>101561311
i miss dfi so much. i had one for my intel yorktown q9450 and loved it so much. was such a reliable board.
>>
>>101560966
They really should make ddr5 boards with 2 slots across their lineup for differentiation
Otherwise they'll just be board maker #71 in the already saturated market
>>
>>101560966
>Are gaming motherboards any good?
ftfy and no
>>
>>101560966
no. avoid supermicro lga1700 boards. they have serious reliability problems.

>They adhered to Intel's own published spec! This is anti-Semitism!
I knew Intcels would find a way to delude themselves that some entity other than their beloved was to blame for Intel's shitty, rusting garbage hardware.

>>101561785
The source is good goyim misquoting a Buildzoid video, despite him actually repeatedly saying Supermicro did nothing wrong over and over again.

the failure rates

The cpus are faulty trash
>>
>>101561857
numbers?
source?

nothing.
>>
>>101561904
they set ac ll wrong and are sending +100+mV overvolt into incel cpus
>>
Literally what is the benefit of a gaming motherboard over any old one that has the slots you need
Fancy bios and RGB lights?
>>
>>101561945
you get a vrm that doesn't throttle your shit and access to bios settings

>>
>>101562005
how is that beneficial. then I would have to buy another one giving amd more money

my gaming asus isn't even that high. my asus z790 is only 1.0.
>>
>>101562102
how much higher is your vcore vs vid at high clocks
>>
>>101562128
my vcore is almost identical to vid request. for 6ghz my 14900k has been drawing around 1.43-1.48 volts. for 5.7ghz its around 1.35 - 1.4 volts.
when under a pretty much multi threaded load it goes down into the 1.2v range.
>>
>>101562136
pretty heavy, not pretty much
>>
>>101562136
Alright seems like asus set it correctly
>>
>>101562157
that's good to know. i heard gigabyte has been pretty awful. apparently they had one bios that was so bad intel forced them to pull it because they were shoving 1.6 volts into i9's
>>
>>101562178
they have had weird bios bugs as long as I've been around
there was a b450 board that bricked itself when you updated the bios for example
>>
>>101562035
Don't worry his 13900k will naturally destroy itself
>>
>>101561982
>jpg'd to hell
who let the 14900k processed this image
