I currently have a cheepo Logitech Bluetooth keyboard and mouse for my MacMini and the connection distance is SO weak that even just 20" from the USB chip, (in a powered USB hub on top of the computer) the damn things stutter or lose contact.

What's a good wireless keyboard and mouse that isn't expensive (I'm not a gamer, just a regular shitposting suburbanite slob) but has a decent connection and will properly work?

It's probably interference with WiFi. I get no issue with 2.4 wifeless connection.
