BEFORE YOU TRY KDE: try MATE or something else just so you know you have options. for some people KDE just werks, others, it's horrible.

Linux Mint is stable and the most just werksKubuntu is stable and has the better desktop, but with a bit of post-install work to do for optimal experience, like uninstall snap and install flatpak
