I can't. I tried so hard to make gaming on linux works and theres just too much shit that breaks, I tried mint, fedora, arch, debian.
One day games work perfectly, the next nothing will start and linux can't even detect my external drive. I try to restart and systemd takes actual 35 minutes to shut down. It works fine for a week but then eventually just turns to shit. I love linux, I love using it for everything but when it comes to gaming it simply can't keep up, which really sucks because when I can actually get it to work I get better performance than windows but it's just too random and fragile. I'm sorry linus, I'm sorry stallman. I tried this for 5 years and I just can't do it anymore. Forgive me, for I am installing windows again.

usecase for this post?
>>
zero problems gaming for 10+ years on my Arch Linux btw system
>>
i was an arch (endeavour) fag for a while and gaming worked fine for me, even pirated vidya. once in a while a game required somethign dumb to run, like a few dll files for silent hill 2 enhanced or forcing dx11 for returnal, everything else was fine though. that being said, i switched to a modded w11 ltsc for some non-gaming reasons but comes with the benefit of game compatibility, atleast. just use what works, dont let fags on here flame you for using one vs another, its YOUR machine lol

How?
>and linux can't even detect my external drive.
I'd check cables. USB micro-B being trash is the closest I ever came to this, both on Windows and Linux.
>systemd takes actual 35 minutes to shut down
I use openRC (Gentoo) so I don't know for sure, but apparently, systemd stop jobs taking forever is a configuration issue.

I can make it work:
1) Get at least 64GB RAM and 2x GPUs,
2) Plug monitor into wimpier of the two GPUs and set your UEFI to use it as primary,
3) Install Qubes OS
4) Create StandaloneVM qube for Windows install,
5) Install Windows,
6) Pass through the good GPU (really really try to make this Nvidia),
7) May need to apply a patch for the no bootable device error, if it occurs (it's in Qubes forum),
8) Be sure to install Nvidia drivers and Qubes Windows Tools,

Enjoy full GPU accelerated Windows gaming on Qubes OS!

Sounds like a you problem.

Been on Linux for about 4 years now and things have only gotten better.

Fedora and Arch with KDE chads have the best time. Every other faggot I see bitching and moaning about "problems" we don't have.

Personally it just werks with steam proton (which can run any game even non steam games)
>>
>>101576401
That was the way 10 year's ago. And it was a fucking ballache not worth the time then. GPU pass through requires levels of autism even the Linux community struggles to muster.

Games just werk now. Steam and Lutris. Boom, done.

Gaming on linux works for me?
I installed kununtu, then steam via discover and then clicked a checkbox in steam's settings for steam play or whatever and have been playing elden ring all night.
>>
>>101576401
Its literally just "install steam" nowadays grandpa.
>>
>>101573596
I only play modded Skyrim and that's the only reason I do have an nvme dedicated for Windows on my motherboard. Many of the mod tools I am using aren't properly working with Wine.

Anyway, I am more than happy with Linux otherwise

Works great for me, but I don't game I run a pirated quarter-plus million dollar CA{D,M,E} package in it instead (Siemens PLM NX). Rock fucking solid and very performant!

Skill issue
MO2 works fine, Nemesis works fine, Bodyslide works fine, TES5edit works fine, LOOT works fine, Wrye bash works fine, CK works fine, Nifskope works fine, SKSE works fine
That is literally the entire tool suite as far as I am aware so I don't know what the fuck doesn't work for you
>>
>>101576638
MO2 didn't work for me (It starts but the menu is not reactive at some places). Not going to spend hours debugging that/ trying different versions of wine.

Sounds like a skill issue to me

Use lutris and steam. Will run most things. Just adjust the wine version in lutris.

Just stop playing videogames then.
>>

Your Specs? Install CachyOS for max performance/no tinkering gaming.
>>
Is there anything more autistic than Linux fags defending how gaming works perfectly on their shitty distro, but when you ask them what they play it's only 20 years old games and when you start talking about any games for people who have actual IRL friends like lol, valorant, wow, gta, or even running a simple fucking fitgirl repack, they start telling you these games are shit anyway.
>>
>>101578786
gta + wow work fine, wow even runs faster than on windows. Fitgirl repacks always worked stop talking shit. If you install vanguard on your personal computer end yourself.
>>
>>101578786
Valorant is the only game that doesn't run out of the box, the rest just works on Linux and has better performance than on Windows. What are you smoking?
>>
>>101578979
lol doenst work as well because of the vanguard rootkit, prior to that it worked fine
>>
the steam deck is for linux gaming
and that's what you can expect
30-60fps low resolutions and a whole lot of coping
