Why are you against Neuralink? Neuralink will be able to get you to a perpetual state of happiness by stimulating your brain to produce 24/7 dopaminesDon't you want that? Don't you want to be happy and stop being a depressed?

>>101579412thats not how the brain works. sure you can make dopamine production go into overdrive for a while then it stops permanently, leading to permanent depression.
>Why are you against Neuralink?I'm not. Full automation, UBI and A.I. is the future.Embrace the future.
>>101580181I'm not convinced that's true. This article and website in general might be of some interest. Even if I don't necessarily agree with their conclusions, there's more to the conversation than it just being technologically impossible.https://qualiacomputing.com/2016/08/20/wireheading_done_right/It's written by some sperg that wants to abolish suffering and "explore the state-space of consciousness," so bear that in mind before reading. https://www.paradise-engineering.com/brain/This poorly formatted website also has some interesting information about old experiments with electrodes if you don't feel like reading as much speculation.
>>101579412>perpetual state of happiness by stimulating your brain to produce 24/7 dopaminesThat's a dumb way of putting it. You don't want to be squeezing dopamine out all the time. Instead, it'd be much better for the chip to maintain a healthy baseline of it and zap your brain gently when the levels get too low. Focus on minimizing suffering instead of maximizing pleasure.
