I appreciate this topic. There is this fear of missing out whenever a device that looks a little different with higher numbers comes out. Sometimes, it is just hard to be happy with what you have until the novelty of the new shiny thing wears out.

I think the most important thing I can say is be comfy with what you have, because you can get something nicer at another time. What you get from Apple at the brand-new price is rarely good value. If you could, consider a refurb M2 or M3? I worry myself about the quality of refurbs though as I've never had one from ANYWHERE. The only hopeful thing is that it's from Apple.
