I'm looking for a pair of buds, but I need them to have a controller to change volume. I'm in a lab wearing gloves most of the time and it's a hassle to pull my music player out and pause it when people talk to me. Listen to a lot of classic rock. $50 range, flats or bullets, no ear wraps. Is this something that can be accomplished with a separate cable or do they need to be integrated in the buds?

If you iem specs output impedance between 12 and 100 ohms, you're good. If 50 or less is a good listening volume, you're good. If volume is going to 80 or 90 you need more power (voltage technically) which the other options provide.
>>
>>101728818
>>101729046
I listen at 80-90 depending on the track. Is this bad? Anything higher than 90 hurts my ears so I wouldn't go past it
>>
>>101729471
It's a lack of power, and volume control may be annoying. And if you find a really quiet recording, you won't be able to boost volume easily. At that point you can get a JM20 to be more comfortable. If you don't feel annoyed, I guess there's no reason to act. It would annoy me.

This.
When the Chinese economy implodes though eventually India will take over there’s already a massive transition over to textiles. Eventually it will be electronics and other things. The final frontier will be Africa in maybe 30-40 years where most cheap shit will be made in one/a few of those countries.

China has a 105 average IQ. That means the average Chinese is a good factory worker.
>>101734331
India has an 75 average IQ, the average Indian can't even operate a broom or a trash bag. And that means the top tier Indian factory worker contaminates iPhones with fecal matter. It would take 50000 years to evolve Indian and African IQ to the same level, but it's never going to happen because technology has reduced or reversed the selection pressure for intelligence.

That's why everything comes from China, it's not a minor twist of fate.

My shozy p20 finally arrived. Super fast delivery from linsoul, one week to nyc.

First impressions are that it's got very comfy tuning and fits very well. This is an iem I can listen to for hours. The nozzle is really short, might be a problem for some. Tried a bunch of tips, my go to spinfit w1s works well but severely cuts the bass which shines here. I actually found the stock tips to deliver really good bass, but compresses the upper ranges. Gonna be a problem for me to find the perfect tips.

The build quality is solid, cable bit thin, very nice traveling case. This was 100% worth the $70 and will be my daily driver due to the tuning and comfort.

Are you talking about volume? If not, I assume you are talking about upper frequency amplitude, which simply means the JBLs are tuned with more elevation or peaks in the treble. I'm pretty sure Galaxy Buds have EQ presets in the app. In lieu of further exploring PEQ, just play around with different EQ presets.
>>
>>101738241
out of 6 (or so) EQ presets only 2 are usable (dynamic and clear) while others are tuned by retards, including the default one, if you don't have an app or don't wanna use the official samshit one just get gadgetbridge
>>
Budget: >$50 for exclusively listening to speaking and dialog. I have apple earbuds and moon drop blessing 3s. The apple buds have too sharp treble. Blessing 3 are far too expensive to justify leaving my desk and need a affordable set for class.

What is are the best wireless chinkpods nowadays? <$25-30 as beaters for outdoor activities. I’m not too picky about sound, they just shouldn’t feel too flimsy. I ordered the Anker p10i but ended up returning it because the chime when they connected was super low quality compared to its actual sound quality. My baselines for comparison are my old AirPods gen 2s. Anything as good or better than those. I also had the Sony xm5s but gave them to my sister because they made my ears too hot lol. >>101740741

>>
>>101740766
It's the same as the original with a tuning nozzle option that makes it a little brighter, or keeps it the same (two options). If you want it brighter, EA500LM does it better.
>>
>>101740767
We've given you the explanations. It's tuning aka frequency response. Another possibility is the bluetooth codecs, cross-reference your phone versus the two pairs for what codecs are available (ie SBC, AAC, etc.). Ideally you want to force the highest bitrate compatible codec.
If you want to return them, go ahead. You like the JBLs and that's that.
>>
>>101740767
the buds FE actually have nice drivers with fast response but it's tuning that matters the most and if you don't like it, either listen to them some more and get used to it (human brain can do wonders) or if you can't, just return them
it'd be a shame, since they're one of the very few TWS where you can replace batteries and extend their life with relative ease, while the vast majority either require soldering or even cracking the shells open rendering them not usable anymore, so in this perspective you can call the FEs kind of investment among TWS sets

As confirmed enthusiasts, it's not our aim to send everyone home with a Wan'er and an Apple dongle. If we get people engaged in the higher end market, it will be more healthy for all of us. This is true. For example, Head-Fi, where a lot of posters are more financially able to get their hands on more expensive sets - is a proud community that has less than a single clue of how audio reproduction works and, whether by ignorance or by motivation of selling more products, pedal decade old myths of "burn-in," gear synthesis, and cable rolling. Anyone who thinks Circle-jerk echo chambers like Head Fi is bad is a weird chud who must've fallen out of a coconut tree when they were a young incel.

Currently posting from the S9 as well.

we have anywhere from 5-30 people who actually buy things >$100. 1/5 chance any one of them is browsing at a given moment. chifi releases new iems every week. most people aren't mentally ill enough to collect redundant peripherals. do you have every mouse, every monitor, every watch, every iem, every headphones, etc? no, because it's completely unrealistic for a normal person to consoom that much. some guy had them a while back, said he liked the bass. that's obvious if you look at a graph, which you have access to viewing yourself. buy the pos yourself from amazon and you can return if you dont like it. or gamble your ~$250 or w/e. we're not here to hold your hand or declare "THIS IS THE HECKIN GOATED IEM YOU NEED." you have resources available to make educated decisions. one person's subjective opinion should hold little value.

most people overestimate their own ability to critique sound. truth is you will likely be satisfied by 3/5 options if you were to simply pick at random. you're not as delibratly discriminating as you think, so wracking your brain over "wait this jewtuber says it's le good but this one says the soundstage is kinda mid, who do i trust?!" is a waste of time.
1) know the sound you like
2) pick an iem with appropriate frequency response
3) hope it fits your ears well
that's as deep as it gets, and that's the quick rundown from someone who has spent thousands in audio. ever trusting some fuckhead on the internet is dumb. people can be fucking stupid and severely lack greater context ie alternative / competitor options, etc. it's easy to say "best thing i've ever heard xyz!" when said person only has like 5 iems. useless rando opinion. and even if they have hundreds of iems, they can still hear things vastly different than you.

I'm about to buy my first pair of IEMs. Simgot EW200s because I read they are good alrounders, have good sound quality and are pnly 43 euros here.
I"m not sure how these will measure up against my headphones: HD650 and XM4. But I just want something lightweight while I cycle to work and do stuff in the office. My ears are getting pretty warm with over ear earphones during summer.

They're a pretty good choice, fidelity will be about the same as your XM4, but the iem presentation, not the headphone presentation.

It's worth going up to Kefine Delci AE or Simgot Supermix 4 if you want to spend the money. But you won't have any problems with the EW200, a solid set. They're not heavy, and the metal conducts heat out of your ears as well.

Pos doesn't mean anything, every iem is a pos.
If you want to be cool and try two iems, get a EPZ Q1 Pro.

Look at these graphs, the two are different on both ends. EW200 has more bass, less upper mids (brightness). EPZ Q1 Pro has less bass, more brightness.

So these pos are quite different within the small range of both being likable. If you want a more bassy but still bright set, EW200. If you want just clean and bright, EPZ Q1 Pro. Whatever words appeal to you. And they're close enough, you can easily EQ one into the other one.

New noteworthy release post (part 1). Been A WHILE since the last one. Like seriously, I missed a few release rotations. Will probably take multiple posts if some of you remind of pos that I missed.
Price in ($USD), [driver configuration]
IEMs:
>Moondrop Quark 2 DSP ($17) [1DD]
DSP pos with the same shit cable as the first Quark. Tuned to their VDSF target for 5128. Normal 711 graphs looks fine
>SIVGA Que ($77) [1DD]
SIVGA release, nothing special.
>7Hz FIVE ($150) [5DD]
Impressive graph
>Tri I3 MK3 ($220) [1DD + 1PL + 1BA]
Essentially a Cadenza4, so basslet. Looks really cool tho
>TangZu Wan'Er Studio Edition ($21) [1DD]
Revamp, made it more "normal" and more similar to other offerings.
>Kinera Celest Wyvern Abyss/Qing ($40) [1DD]
2 new-ish variants. Semi-custom, mediocre tuning, good looking.
>7Hz Aero ($15) [1DD]
Super cheap looking, no detachable cable, tuning looks alright, although pinna is centered at 4khz
>Letshuoer S08 ($100) [1PL]
Warmish planar, should sound fine but rather niche.
>Dunu Titan S2 ($80) [1DD]
Looks ugly, but hey the accessories look really good. Tuning is basic
>TinHifi Dudu ($100) [1PL]
Lmao.
>Kefine Delci AE ($90) [1DD]
Comes with removable nozzles, one of which is close to the og Delci, the other boosts treble peaks.
>Thieaudio Origin / Oracle MK3 (/) [/]
Too lazy to bother checking. Oracle MK3 has been out for a while, Origin has been announced
>"Obscure" brands (INTUAURA, CKLVX, PULA, NiceHCK, Raptgo, XINHS, QoA, Tiandirenhe, LUN SHENG, FLOAUDIO, Kefine, Netc)
I can't do it for all of them, sorry :(

A longshot but what's the best wireless earbuds overall in sound quality and decent anc for sleep? The budget is around 100-250$. Current earbuds are freebuds 5i but they are starting to fail me bit by bit with charging problems

If you really want that, it's AKG N400, if you can get them. Since they're discontinued. Samsung Buds2 Pro also work, but they're a a little less bright, less suited for lolicons. The AKG N400 are bright and clean like Tachibana Arisu or Supermix 4. They don't need EQ at all.

It's not worth it for cheap pos. Try your best to gather the clear evidence (pictures of it broken and whatnot), calmly express your great displeasure, maybe claim the right side also doesn't play audio, and hope Aliexpress Dispute sides with you for a partial refund with no return. That is the ideal option you should aim for imo.
And yeah once you're all through with the dispute process, just some superglue should be fine don't go overboard.

This is correct. Definitely say the broken side doesn't play, and also if the seller is top 1% sympathetic, he may send you a free replacement so ask for that first. But most of them are tight asses.

The magic number on AliExpress for a refund without returning it is 50%. If you post evidence of defects and request a 50% refund, they more or less automatically approve it. Basically splitting the loss between buyer and seller. Considering how cheaply they get these pos, I doubt the sellers mind at all.

Not an audiophile at all but as you may be able to tell from this post I'm staggeringly autistic in other aspects of my life.
Bought Raptgo Leaf D01s on deep sale because I prefer cabled earphones and like the idea of being able to replace the cable if it breaks.

I grabbed a Surfan f20 (and installed rockbox) because my phone audio is so shit that even I can tell and there's no way to turn off its aggressive EQ. I don't really like having my phone be my music player anyway.
Having bought these two things is there anything I should fuck with in terms of settings or anything else I should do going forward?
Not sure if it matters but I prefer female vocalists and by default this setup sounds really good to me but I'm so used to complete dogshit that I don't really have a way to judge things.

Grabbed a raptgo leaf d01 myself, and although many reviewers say bad things about it, they sound pretty detailed and technically accurate. though there is no wow factor from a specific tuning, I pretty much like them. These are already out of stock, so linsoul did a good job in selling them

I've found that ear tips, especially tangzu sancai and those from azla sednaearfit work pretty well with them

I want to use my wired IEM but I'm afraid I'll break my usb-c port with the adapter I'm using... should I get a bluetooth dac? I don't want a PMP since I've stopped downloading music and I don't want to bother with that again.

I returned them. I think I probably should have waited more and tinkered with it but the difference was really unbearable.

how are apple earpods in terms of sound quality compared to iems, especially the buds fe? Should I even buy non-iem headphone?
I can double the price and buy cx 80s but idk if it's worth the money
>>

Jack of all trades.

idk what that means

Expensive isn't always better, especially after a certain price point. This applies to almost any technology.
>>
>>101748732
Good evening, sir.
>>
Hylic: expensive is better
Psychic: no correlation between price and sound quality
Pneumatic: expensive is worse

B&K graph is looking bad
i canceled my preorder
>>

>pre-ordering anything
>let alone a nggar IEM
>5128 meme
Shameful display.
>>
>>101749799
looks good to me so I kept my preorder
can't wait to get it, probably in like 2025
>>
>>101749350
what are the non-meme recommendations, is tangzu wan'er good?
>>
>>101749799
The 5128 graph actually looks pretty good.
it’s too expensive for what it is which is a dual dynamic but it is a good IEM
>>
>>101750088
KZ is a meme overall but these are solid for the price. Waner is the same chink plastic toy thing but the new studio version is pretty ok too
>>
>>101750168
>shitty treble
>pretty good
what
>>
>>101750088
Durability is a big problem with IEMs. Honesty can't name anything that's going to last.
>>
>>101750200
it has a spike at 11-12khz. other than that it’s smooth?
If anything it just shows HBB is a bit of a hypocrite when he bitched about a similar spike on Gate but we already knew he was a shill
>>
>>101747661
Rockbox has very powerful EQ options, the the F20 has a fast enough CPU to run 10 filters no problem.
Read the eq guide in the op and mess with the sound to your liking
>>
>>101741024
That's why you are supposed to not take any advice from this general. Only exception that can be crosschecked is from people posting pictures of things they talk about.
>>
ngl I'm tired of audiofaggotry. my most expensive and objectively the best set loses use time to comfortable and smooth flatheads when I just play music in a background at work.
>>
>>101750953
You bought pos. Buy comfortable IEMs and EQ.
>>
>>101750953
if you are retarded and bought expensive pos without auditioning them that's on you
>>
If you are planning to get an expenssib pos then at least wait for a big sale.
>>
>>101751193
Mega5est never goes on sale fucking chinks
>>
>>101751303
it’s one of the hottest most popular $500 POS on the market no freaking duh it won’t go on sale not for awhile until there’s a new spicy meme to take over
>>
>>101751303
>generic overgrown cheap plastic hollow shell pos with meme ests
why even bother
>>
>>101751042
>>101751059
No dumbos, they are great and I enjoy the shit out of them. I just prefer less technical, warmer and smoother tuning for daily use.
>>
>>101751379
you're poor
>>
>>101751428
blud I'm not the one whining about no sales lmao
>>
>>101751379
Because some youtuber liked it or something.
>>
>>101751402
So you don't like the tuning but can't admit you fucked up.
>>
If only there was a way to make an IEM you enjoy warmer and smoother for daily use...
>>
>>101751555
true, maybe one day we will be able to soft-mod the frequency response so it matches every individuals preference.

Will I regret redeeming the posdelix? I don't need it, and its price is quite inflated for me now, but it's the better way to listen to stuff on your phone, I suppose.
>>
>>101751719
yes
>>
>>101751719
yeah, eventually. you could've gotten an a55 that does bt with 2x range, music player that holds up to 1tb cards, and custom firmware options with the sacrifice of meme peq. the buttons on a55 are better. the only real downside is proprietary walkman connection for data/charging, but never a problem for me since i always charge mine before bed.

I've had one forever, it just stays in my drawer. It has a really narrow use case: how much better is it to plug in to this, than to plug into your phone? A tiny bit better.

Bluetooth ear hooks have similar audio quality and a much clearer use case by eliminating the wire. There just aren't any really good ones being sold right now.
>>
>>101751857
>bluetooth ear hooks
counter point: I don't wanna look like I'm wearing hearing aids
