But you can't have a massive one, as it will literally forget about the previous(older) tokens it generates as it goes on for too long. A short, concise CoT is best. Got no technical insight here but from my experience you get way better responses with a focused CoT which addresses the main issues you're having, as opposed to it being general about things. Using a long ass ToT or CoT is just locust mentality trying to get 'better' outputs.I'm not saying your ToT doesn't work, just that it's a waste of tokens. Having a CoT where it just iterates of possible ways to go, single sentences would have the same effect albeit it faster and less tokens.

I hide chat and unhide 40 messages at a time. One issue is sometimes it will skip a rather large chunk so I have to paste summary prompt into chat and say "hey you forgot X before Y" then it will reply with X. Seems no prefill needed to summarize explicit content.
