nf4 & gguf can run on 8gb. you can use twitter in the short term but theres no way its staying free for long. the amount of gpu they need to pay for makes no sense to give away free. they're just getting people interested in the service before paywalling it

The only difference is Flux was trained on more natural language, whereas people tended to stick to booru style tagging for XL. So, I might consider editing my dataset tags a little, somehow. But I'm really not sure how to effectively tag for Flux, so...

I need someone to explain to me why people are creaming themselves over Flux when any attempt I've tried so far has turned out just like any other generic 1girl shit "realism" checkpoint with plastic skin, excessive DOF and studio-styled lighting.

What sampler and kinds of prompts are you supposed to use to get the ACTUAL realistic-looking images that people keep on telling me Flux is capable of? Because so far this feels like the exact kind of slop I've been seeing for ages, only now with a cleft chin.

1 - Stop prompting like stable diffusion, use LLMs to create prompts for you, this model uses natural language prompts, not tags
2 - Use Loras to remove the midjourney slop style, like these:
https://civitai.com/models/639937/boreal-fd-boring-reality-flux-dev-lora?modelVersionId=715729
https://civitai.com/models/646686/japanese-photo-1980s-style-1980
3 - Use this:
https://www.reddit.com/r/StableDiffusion/comments/1estj69/remove_the_blur_on_photos_with_tonemap_an/
4 - Use negative prompts, add "blur, depth of field, bokeh" to it
5 - You can try lowering the 'fake' cfg to get more realistic outputs, there are comfyui flows for this

ostensibly it was because the chinks released some decent models, and a certain subset decided Stability AI was OVER (which was basically true) and so having the S in /sdg/ was a grievous insult to diffusion imggen. obviously, the rest of us were like "lol wut?" and the rest is history

are you surprised to learn that gettyimages, one of the companies suing SAI, has their own ai generation service trained exclusively on getty's images. i am not surprised. kinda ruins any chance their case had, you can't really complain about someone else doing the thing you're doing yourself, not to mention laion5b only contained getty's images and it was only noticeable in the models because of how prolific the watermarked versions are all over the web. i guess nobody really pays for high resolution versions from them. honestly its even more reason now to archive getty's images before they inevitably drain all their money with unprofitable inference services

its a concert of all sorts of things. the chinese models motivated some people. anti-debo sentiment motivated some people. the discord motivated some people. sai shitting up sd3 motivated some people. then flux justified everyone in their predispositions. notice we don't even have control of our own OP anymore. we've been promoting a discord who seeks our destruction for months. maybe sdg deserves to die if no one cares if it lives

not sure if he's said what actually went wrong, i mean his ui was literally promoted by SAI, by all appearances he got all the support anyone in his position could hope for. i know better than most the problems at SAI but if my library had gotten even 1% of that support i'd have been happy, if i had been able to work exclusively on my open source projects, instead of working on the react dreamstudio rewrite, maintaining the vue site, scraping datasets and everything else at the same time

thats the point. we're not the crowd worth following. comfy and city used to give us exclusives because we were the most excited for them. now we don't hear from them because... idk? they found other audiences?
sdg was a space where people wanted to grow knowledge and push boundaries but people leading those expeditions abandoned us. we were just a vehicle for them to find better communities than us

>>101936538
>What did he do?
he abandoned us. sooner than anyone else. I've had to beg him for simple blog posts. he doesn't post updates. he doesn't even post intentions. if we ever get a comfy update, its because I happens to see a git commit with enough of a commit message to tell us what he's up to.
I'm sure this sounds dramatic and pedantic to some but I remember when comfy posted here like he wanted us to care. like we mattered to him. I remember watching the progress of his foxgirl gens and being convinced to care about his work. fuck him for convincing me to care, only for him to throw me away afterwards.

nta (obviously) but I agree with this. Them posting their announcements to somewhere with a bigger/more active audience makes sense from their point of view.

There's nothing actually stopping him, debo, posting his own news headline posts in the other thread either. Sure there's going to be anons that get on his case for it but if he really cared about getting the info out to people then that should be his priority above anything else.

I can't really speak on it because I wasn't there, but I think they told him they didn't want him to and part of the reason, at first, was because he was posting it here as well and some actually had an us or them attitude, I did see that part of it.

yeah it sucks, what can you do though, some posters are just like that. engaging them in any way only encourages them. it's interesting in a way because they prey on new posters who see attacks on existing posters and think they're doing the right thing by joining in or believing what they're being told, without realizing they're becoming part of the problem
>>101936989
that's true, he could post the news there, however given the extent of certain posters hatred it's easy to understand why he doesn't, that amount of hatred is demoralizing, and a lot of what they hate him for they made up themselves to perpetuate the hate

in the current thread over there he hasn't posted the news but he is doing his old "mfw" posts and, at least, helping some anons out. Seems like he's more than ready to take on those anons that are against him if he's just casually stepping into "their" territory.
>>
>>101937121

That's the silly part. Threads on a public anonymous image board don't belong to any poster(s). But they really think it does and they have some kind of power or control on 4chin.
