May be a stupid question but should I suspend my case somewhat so the PSU fan has clearance or leave it covered (wholly sitting on a surface)? I'm curious if this matter for dust accumulation on the PSU.
>>102105900True. But I'm still glad I highlighted the url right clicked and opened in new private window because some guy in the comments said that mx-6 suffers from pump-out. mx4 it is.
>>102105970no it doesn't, that was MX-5 that guy is talking crap.
>>102105708Generally the OC models are better binned so you might get more manual OC out of them if that's your thing (or a better undervolt but that's nuanced). The "stock" performance difference is minimal these days due to dynamic boost so don't spend big money on an OC model.
>>102105970You're just as stupid for trusting a Jay fanboy. I've used two runs of MX-6 on different systems and also pasted a friend's system with it. Zero issues. I also do bi-yearly benchmarks to check for any sort of degradation and the paste holds just as well as it did 4 years ago.

>>102105705it will cost you more than an OLED
>>102105934If you're building a new rig then buy a case with filtered intakes. The vast majority of mainstream midrange cases have it for the PSU at least. If you have some budget to spare, you should also spec the wattage such that the fan doesn't need to spin most of the time. Obviously you'll need a unit with 0RPM mode but they're not hard to come by nowadays.OTOH, if you're talking about an old rig with none of those features then yeah try not to run it on the floor. Get yourself a stand of some sort - even a couple of inches makes a big difference for dust.
>>102106046did they accept your rma
>>102105787I mean he is using it like that. It a miracle he got only, very not noticeable in the normal use, single line in the middle.
>>102106070btw the line is there because of the border between white and dark, if he used dark theme it wouldn't be there, basically pixels on the border have to work more intensively par of the pixel is darker color and the other part is white
>>102105880you will use the upscaling and you will be happy
>>102106083Who knew the ps360 would be where resolution stopped scaling for vidya.
>>102106052Okay, the case has a filter but the PSU doesn't seem to (Lancool 216 & LEADEX VII XG 850 W). Fan is facing downwards. It runs extremely quiet but I don't care about that, I just don't want it to get clogged up with dust too quickly and for me to not notice, causing issues. I have it sitting on a chair like a foot above the ground, I'm just curious if dragging it to the front so the clearance is covered would make a difference in my case.

Should I go for a 182usd 3060 12gb or should I wait for a better card/deal? I just missed out on a 200usd 6700xt which is making me want to wait for a similar deal. It will be paired with a 5700x3d to play league and souls games in 1440p.
>>102106120Very minimal difference if any. You've done your due diligence so don't sweat it - just clean the filter occasionally. Since your case doesn't have a front filter, unless you bought it separately, that'll mean like twice a year which is more than enough for a filtered intake.
>>102106156yeah it's fine it's not that much slower than the 6700xt
>>102106156Eh a 3060 will get more than satisfactory performance in those sorts of games so I don't see a reason to wait.
>>102106168Yeah temps are solid for my whole system; only the CPU gives me a little pause, 45-55 degrees for idle and light loads, never goes above low 60s for my games on average and hitting low 80s in benchmarks like PassMark. This is an R5 7600 with a Phantom Spirit btw. I'll probably get the air filter so I save myself the cleaning headache.
>>102106207Those temps are good. The idle reading is mostly a function of your fan curve anyway - it'll be "high" if the fans are set to spin slowly under light load.
>>102106129CRTs- I owned one for 8 years so I know, brightness and colors go to shit in 5 years.Plasma, burned in even worse, you don't have a new one to see the color shifts to compare.LCDs, old ones with lamps, brightness gone to hell only in 4 years, I owned it since 2011 to 2015, it was barely outputting any light.Modern LCDs got much better, but the damn glow, VA angles still terrible, VA smear from motion, IPS mid range monitors contrast is 800:1 with even shittier uniformity.YOu ahve to pay $1.500 for a semi decent FALD LCD, that's twice the price of an OLED.OLED is a trade, you buy nearly perfect monitor for 4 years of normal use and have to replace it when it goes to hell. Can't afford it, stick to LCD and replace your monitor in eight. Can't you save up $800 in 4 years?

Is it normal that there's a cracking noise coming from inside my PC? This usually happens when playing games, as I have a huge (33cm) GPU that has a support beam mounted underneath it (screwed in free slots). Said GPU also emits quite a lot of heat (70-80C).
