>530268819/3421006326 [32:43<1:38:11, 490695.79it/s]there that's betteridk why all the existing solutions struggle. pyspark ran literally all day yesterday and it didn't even start processing, just reading every byte of a 2TB collection at an incredibly slow speed, to get the ids to partition by. the other partition types read the entire collection to find the average document size which is so stupidi tried dask and dask-mongo, same shit, first of all it does an actual count which is ridiculously slow, just use estimated document count, then it does some aggregation pipeline to get the ids to partition by but this reads every byte of the entire collection and groups by id, and its never going to stop because theres new data added to the collection, like wtfas i was falling to sleep i thought, why not iterate the cursor, use projection for only id and take the min/max cursors for each partition from index % size and break when it gets to the estimated row count. looks like it will work or at least i'll only have to wait 2 more hours to find out instead of indefinitely, and it doesnt need to read every single bytei think i could do similar with mongo spark-connector and a custom partitioner but it would be a lot of hassle, for now my dask-mongo fork should be good enoughmore data more problems. honestly i'm surprised its like this especially mongo spark-connector, surely someone else is using more than toy collections

>>102353208I couldn't even get Forge to start generating an image, but it sounds like a memory issue. In ComfyUI with Flux I run out of memory for VAE Decode unless I gen the first image at a lower resolution e.g. 512x512 instead of 1024x1024>SDXL hates "W"s it seems

>>102353360A: is usually reserved for a floppy drive (probably not anymore), but I would still advise against using it for a hard drive.Windows usually keeps it reserved so things like usb flash drives can't use that drive letter. The pagefile should only reside on 1 drive, but I think auto-managed paging picks whatever is best and uses that.
>flux shills have left /ldg/Jim, it's dead.
>>102353208You need to benchmark your system and see if the blue screen happens then. Right now, I have an RTX 3070, 8GB VRAM. It cuts it for 8B LLMs, but it's not cutting it for image generation.I see two upgrade paths forward. One option is to upgrade to a 3090, with 24 GB VRAM.The other option is to get myself a 3060 with 12 GB as a dedicated secondary processor for all of my AI tasks for the forseeable future, potentially freeing me up to upgrade my primary GPU to whatever AMD's best offering happens to be next generation, or at least to this generation's 7900XTX.I'm only using AI for image generation and LLM RP. Will I regret not going for a 24GB card if I'm already going through this trouble?I have a 7700x and an 850w PSU.
>>102353972using both PCIE slots cuts the bandwidth in half, in most casesshould look into that

>>10235397224gb holy crap is this really the standard necessary for todays world?
>>102353972if you can afford the ~700 to 800 for the second hand 3090 then it's totally worth it, sell the 3070 to fund it. With winter coming it will help keep your PC room warm so you can turn down your heating. The 850w psu will do just fine. You can even power cap the 3090 if you wanted to.
>>102353972>Will I regret not going for a 24GB card if I'm already going through this trouble?maybe. 12gb is just barely enough for current gen models like flux, even after cutting corners. we've seen some pretty crazy optimizations this year but the trend is still vram requirements go up. if you wanna fuck around with more complex workflows in the future, or video models, or who knows what, you're gonna find 12gb very constraining.>>102354009the only way to achieve zen is to give up on pursuit of zen

Alright I found some post regarding the issue, gonna try this
>>102354833You only need one fixed size page file (if you plane to do high demand activity like Flux is) on your fastest drive.16 GB memory should equal 32 GB of swap file just in case.If you have more than 32 GB of ram you shouldn't even need a swap file unless it's for preventing memory leaks during long 'renders'. >>102358107>20 years from now people are unable to even writeare -> will be*but I don't agree with this. people won't forget how to write and kids in school today are still taught writing as a fundamental skill. maybe you mean people will lose the appetite for long-form writing, which I'd moreso agree with. I don't think writing will ever go away cuz its a baseline form of social expression -- regardless of how deeply AI integrates into our daily lives
>>102358330I think the AI added this DMC5 soundtrack because it is so popular, it has been listened to hundreds of millions times.
>>102358335This is so curious, I think I have dyslexia but it is happening outside my own language because I was so fortunate enough that they really beat it into me.These little structure errors have followed me for 20 years. Maybe it is not about English but about my own language. thanks.
