Why are there no 24" 4k monitors? I need this to mimic the retina display feel.
>>
Pointless at that size.
>>
>>102412703
You literally posted an image that lists a 4k 24" monitor, the Dell P2415Q. Picture is retarded though, what's supposed to be bad about that resolution?
>>
>>102412893
Anything larger than 24" is a deal breaker for 4k resolution because pixel density becomes too low. The use case here is programming and anyone who stares at text for long periods of time and values sharp, crisp text. Not talking about gamers and videos.

Not available anymore. Neither is the LG 4k 24".

don't use scaled fonts and problem solved
>>
>>102412703
scaling is fundamentally broken
>>
>>102412924
4k is good for games and videos, you don't need it for anything else. get a good 1080p or 1440p for other use cases
>t. uses a 32" 4k for gaymes and a 27" 1080p for everything else
>>
There is something mentally wrong with people who obsess over having pixel density over 80
>>
>>102413177
4k resolution with 2x scaling works beautifully on mac. But text on <27" display doesn't look as sharp as original macbook or ipad screen because DPI is too low. For that level of sharpness, display needs to be smaller. Ideally 21", but no more than 24". For 27" display one needs 5k resolution for same pixel density. 6k for 32".
>>
>>102413237
It is important for those of us who stare at text all day instead of images and videos.
>>
>>102413379
just use a bitmap font nigga
>>
Honestly I found 27'' 1440p to be nice at 125%
It's plenty of "space" for shit
Fonts look just good enough not to be too pixely
It just sort of fits
I have a 14 inch 2880x1800 laptop and sure fonts lool smoother but everything is so narrow, so awkward.
>>
>>102413356
it's optimized on macOS. all of their hardware runs at a hiDPI. it's just broken on windows and linux.
>>
>>102413441
Once I have seen the text sharpness on my macbook or ipad pro, I cannot unsee it.
>>
>>102413356
>But text on <27" display
Meant to type >=27" display

a nice way of saying "FullHD displays are fucking unusable with macs"
>>
>>102412949
ASUS ProArt PA24US

Overpriced for what it is though.
>>
>>102413834
Yeah at the price point might as well go for Dell 6k 32".
My complaint is that 4k is not mass produced enough at 24" or less for us coders who work on mac.
>>
>>102412703
"bad zone" is bullshit. unless you're using a gay linux distro, fractional scaling works fine. I use a 27" 4k and while it might not be true "retina" it's still good.

Although I do agree, in 2015 there were a few 24" 4k models that had great density (I used to have one), for some reason they stopped making them,

Also works fine on Linux if you use KDE, which you should
