Using this shit on a desktop with mouse and keyboard is complete dogshit. I've had it on my system for about a month giving it a try with no extensions to see how it's supposed to be used and I cant do it anymore. Massive padding everywhere meaning I get to use 20% of my screen at any given moment, autistic mobile design menus, jittery animations and oftentimes the animations dont even play at all, gimped to fuck file manager where I cant even right click and create a new text file, etc.Im wiping this shit off my pc and going to plasma. I do not understand how you gnome devs are still going for this retarded convergent design bullshit when convergent design died 10 years ago. Get the fuck off my computer.
gnome was really finicky in my experience and i just gave up on it after i accidentally got a gnome iso for fedora. as for kdpee, it was ok/reminiscent of the same layout as windows' shell, but i got bored of itnow i use xfce4 with the default-ish settings. taskbar dock isn't so bad afterall.

>>102420935>icons on desktopUbuntu or just an extension?
>>102421138Nta, it's been ages since i used gnome but if i'm not mistaken there's a key in dconf to enable icons on desktop
>>102421266not quite, there is a key for that but it's dysfunctional as they removed the desktop icon parts in nautilus. It's an extension for desktop icons
