Sorry for the delayed reply, my PC broke yesterday (and that's why I'm looking for a new GPU) and I'm not really feeling like setting up 4chanx in this old laptop I'm using. Also, here's the full spec list I'm planning to get, it's more just so you guys can check for any egregious mistakes, since the pricing here is way too different :Ryzen 7 5700X3DMSI B450M Pro-VDH MaxKingston Fury Beast 2x8GB 3200MHZ DDR4 CL16Thermalright Assassin X 120 R SENot really sure on the PSU for now, I haven't put this build on PCPartPicker to see how much it consumes but I'll probably end up getting a 500W 80+ Bronze. Also a few similarly priced (new) GPUs here:RTX 4060 8GBRTX 3060 12GBRX 7600 8GBRX 6750 12GBARC A750 8GB>>102416196>>102416209>buy...THIS!!!I'm poor and a turd worlder, the used market here sucks and nVidia is overpriced when compared to the AMD options.>Why not AMD???!!!You know, I'm not really sure, I really had fun playing with local language models and would really like to continue doing so. I understand that 8/12GB isn't a lot but at least nVidia has CUDA. Picrel is a list of similarly priced cards when new. Not to mention the proprietary upscaling technologies that AMD doesn't have.I did check out some used cards and I can find pretty easily a 3060ti for the price of a new 4060, not sure if they were used for mining or whatever, or even if it matters that much.>>102416699>DLSS Frame Gen, you'll have to optimize further, as it requires extra VRAMI had forgotten about DLSS3/Framegen since I've never used it before (I was using a 1060). In theory it seems really cool and a killer feature for the 4060, I'm willing to take a small graphical hit in order to push more frames in taxing games. As I've always been a low-end user I'm very used to adjusting the settings to reach playable framerates so I don't think VRAM would be an issue (in this specific case).>seems that the 4060 is pulling ahead substantially in newer titlesThat is very good to know.
>>102417644Thanks for bringing it up, I'd really like to have some confirmation on this as it'd impact my decision a lot (basically go for an used 3060TI, probably the best option given my situation). A B550 mobo is almost 2x the price of a B450 here unless I go for the absolute bottom of the barrel.

If my store fails to obtain an ASRock X570 Taichi Razer Edition (for the slight upgrades it has over the original, my case doesn't have a window), and I don't manage to get one off Ebay or w/e, what's an equal to it? >>102419655https://pcpartpicker.com/user/pcbg/saved/#view=9CfZ8dThat will give you lite gaming performance (like maybe cross gen PS3/PS4 era games) in the interim before you get a graphics card. It's questionable because it's a PCIe 3.0 system, meaning low end graphics cards can't really be used in it because they're designed for later revisions and they're crippled without the PCIe generation they're designed for. It's also kind of a weak CPU in general, about like the PS5/PS5 Pro's. Can't really put a fast GPU in it or you'll be CPU limited. Something like a 4070 would be the absolute max in my opinion, but a 3070 would probably be more appropriatehttps://pcpartpicker.com/list/hXY87RYou could also go with an i5 12400 + B760 build, which would give you PCIe 4.0, and would be a good pairing for a 4070 or an RTX 5060, if it happens to be good when it releases. The downside is that you don't have lite gaming capability in the meantimeYou can also go super budget and get everything now, and you'll be able to play all be the latest games.https://pcpartpicker.com/user/pcbg/saved/xf6JwPYou could also get a 2060 Super for a little extra performance and VRAM. Not really upgradable past that, but for a cheap system it really can't be beat. Keep in mind that you'll want to budget for a monitor with adaptive sync, as it's fundamental to modern gaming. A system like this might help you to be able to afford the monitor as well

How the fuck do I search for AMD preview drivers on their site?
>>102421330>How hard will a 2700X bottleneck a 7900GRE?fps wise it wont unless you want to push 150fps+, but you may experience stutters in UE5 games, though it's 8c so it shouldn't be as bad as on intel
>>102421358Literally retardedThe 2600X has Haswell level single core
>>102421330>bottleneckit's a meme.
What do I do with old parts? Could this go for $30 or something?Should I keep them and build a Frankenstein PC in the future with all the leftovers?
>>102421358I'm on 1080p@144Hz and don't plan on going beyond that so it sounds perfect. Stutters do annoy me in FPS games but I don't really play those anymore.
>>102421333I noticed last time I posted that, pretty sure I enabled it again
>>102421392It's not a meme when the generation differences of parts are big. But it's a meme when you try to micromanage it trying to squeeze every bit from your new parts.
>>102421330A GRE is unwise period because of how bad the upsampling is. Pretty much always fine to get the graphics card first and upgrade the CPU second, as long as you upgrade it within a reasonable amount of time
>>102421418>generation differences of partslol. try decade.

I'm gonna add one more rad in the bottom and call it good.
>>102421507its fine but that ram is crap
>>102421507never use a single stick of RAMyou would get better performance by going out and buying the cheapest shittiest 2x8 kit you can find

feel like I asked this once a long time ago but cant remember answers.I was one of those poor bastards to hop on Roccat back in like 2017/2018. Absolutely loved the mice. The Kone XTD, Kone AIMO, and Kone Remastered ive owned have all been fantastically comfy for my big hands n the closest successor to the G9 i used for nearly 10 years in my childhood.Sadly, as many know....TB bought em out. And this year wiped em out.I really like the easy shift mechanic, but form factor is king. I was considering the Razer Basilisk (im told their mice are 'good again') or the Logitech G502 mouse....but also eager to find other suggestions for mice similar to the Kone/G9 in shape to look into.TL;DR My Kone AIMO/Remastered have both long started having double click issues, and in last week its become chronically worse n unreliable to M1 at times.Looking for good successor mice to look into, and while Id love a system similar to "Easy Shift" (im told Razer/Logi both have something) its not 'required'.
>>102421556forgot to add on: also looking for keyboard suggestions. Enjoyed my Vulcans, but if i gotta get a new mouse....may as well consider new KB pairing too I suppose?
>>102421562>>102421556this is PC BUILD general, not FAG TOY general, saar.

>>102422010>>102422042What were the first 8GB and 16GB cards?
>>102422069first 8gb is the AMD R9 390 and 390X which was released a few months after the 12gb Titan X from Nvidia in 2015.
>>102422161wasn't there some two-core AMD frankencard that technically had 8gb in the previous gen?

Redpill me on water cooling or just cooling in general. What’s the best way to go about it? And do you guys have any tips/tricks?
You don't need more than 12GB of VRAM ;)
>>102422257>32gb 5090>16gb 5080>12gb 5070>8gb 5060>8gb 5050
>>102422244Actual custom watercooling is a hobbyist thing. Minimal practical/performance benefit but it's good to have hobbies. All in one, or closed loop, water coolers are good nowadays but you need a big heat load to tease out the difference between them and air. 280-360mm models are highly recommended for i7s and i9s. No current gen AMD CPU needs one but the 12/16-core models can benefit. Smaller radiators don't noticeably outperform dual tower air coolers but can be desirable for fitment in cramped cases.

>>102422582Pretty much yeah. Some, maybe even most, productivity software supports AMD cards but Nvidia works with everything. By all means buy AMD if you know your suite works well with them but at that point you don't really need the OP pasta.
