Generally, it's fine. You will want to full (not quick) format your used drives once every year to update your SMART. I have several drives that have some sector issues or the like with 100k+ hours. Full format them once every year or two. I have a folder of prior snapshots dated so I know if the counts are increasing. If the counts on say bad sectors is creeping up every year then yes the drive is most likely unreliable and on the way out.

reallocated sectors aren't bad per se. it's just that if they're starting to appear you should monitor the drive health regular and really worry if they're increasing at an alarming rate.

A good price for 8TB used would be under a 100 bucks. 2TB drives used are generally 10-15 4TB 25-35. Obviously some people ask for more especially if it's a certain brand. Seagates generally are bottom barrel the Kia/Hyundai of drive choice on the used market.
