Welcome to a new Gimp General where we discuss GIMP and the long wait for GIMP 3. For me there is no wait for GIMP 3 as I use the master build of GIMP 2.99.19 here https://github.com/gnome/gimp which is exactly what GIMP 3 will be (except a few bugs) when released - but for normies they are stuck on GIMP 2.10.38 or worse the dreaded 2.99.18 unfriendly public release build... So here is what everyone needs to know. GIMP 2.99.19 is going to evolve into GIMP 3 RC1 which will be another public release to succeed 2.99.18. GIMP 3 RC1 will be released knowing it has known bugs just so more people test because there are two types of bugs. Bugs we know, and bugs we don't know. RC1 will be released after a few more known bugs are solved. So that means we will go from RC1 to RC2 for crtain and hopefully then GIMP 3. Below is a list of all known bugs blocking GIMP 3's release, said list was made a week ago. https://gegl.neocities.org/gimp3

Other then that we have nothing to do but shitpost and have fun with GIMP. Please use this thread to post content created in GIMP and GIMP memes.

Another anon in a recent thread said that some new version is supposed to fix a lot of issues, I think he was talking about 3.0. Is it all that hyped? I haven't looked into it yet.

for me GIMP 3 already is released but with a few bugs because I compile https://github.com/gnome/gimp from source.

Which is basically GIMP 3 RC1 - i don't know why you guys don't compile
