Some motherboards have heatsinks, some don't. I guess motherboards with heatsink last longer? Or is it a performance thing?

If I buy a high-end CPU and put it in a motherboard without a heatsink, what's gonna happen?

the chipsets get ridiculously hot on next gen CPU boards. cheap out on your board at your peril and watch it die within 2 years.
>>
just glue your own heatsink on like its a rpi

no heatsinks = low end motherboard = bad vrm = can't provide enough power to high end cpu = money wasted

They literally do nothing. You do t even need a heat sink on your cpu, bro.

Heat sinks are bloat.
