Same link, use Ohook option
You can also use Office.com if your needs are very minimal
or try OnlyOffice/LibreOffice and set it to save in MSOffice file formats

11 is just 10 with a worse UI, they're otherwise identical in every other way, so there's literally no reason to use it

I'm honestly done with W11, after the latest update everything seems... off. My VMs run like ass (and yes I disabled VBS), and a myriad of other little things that I notice breaking. Even on LTSC 24h2.

I'm thinking of running W10 for the time being, and dual booting a linux distro while I get accustomed to it. Sadly I have an nvidia card so it will not be optimal but honestly I dont care at this point. I want something that just works and doesn't need 3 thousand jeetware scrips to make it usable and not annoying

There is no LTSC 22H2, MS only released LTSC versions every three years.
As for why LTSC 2024 isn't recommended, it's because OP is a seething poor who has sour grapes about Windows 11 not running on his povertyboxes, which LTSC 2024 is based on.

>>102843282
I find that strange though because IoT LTSC 2024 can run on anything above a Core 2 Duo era CPU.

>>
I fell for the meme.

I've been running a 14700k/RTX4080 on my W10 LTSC install since release. Unpatched, default bios settings.

It'd only bluescreened once when using handbrake. Never in any high fidelity games like Tarkov or Hunt.

Otherwise I just watch YouTube and mass download porn.

What am I missing with the W11 cpu scheduler, and being unpatched on W10. Because to my eye, it's all working fine. And I don't want to touch W11.
>>
>>102843296
OP doesn't really know anything about Windows 11. Hell, he doesn't know anything about Windows 10 (hence why he recommends memescripts, claims software runs on LTSC that doesn't, etc). He probably just saw the Coffee Lake requirement for the GAC, looked at his 2500K shitbox, and then proceeded to throw his three-year-long tantrum.
>>
>>102845096
Then don't.
>>
>>102845276
I Won't, just want to know why I should.

If the W11 CPU scheduler for actually using the e or p cores? But then people say better disable them....

If it's like a 3-11% performance difference then the autistic cunts can fuck off and I'm staying w10, unpatched cpu code and running it till it fails.

it ate my last post but I'm gonna try again, I can't seem to get windows Internet Connection Sharing to work. I have PC 1 which is connected to the internet via wifi. I would like to share that connection to a given device via Ethernet cable from PC 1 to the device. I tried a macbook just now and it claims the problem is that PC 1 isn't assigning it an IP address.

Alright, I'll try it.
I noticed that if I pull up Windows on the older SSD (the one I'm trying to clone), it can find the new one (500 GB WD), but I can't seem to open it for some reason. The E:/ drive is another drive I have that's unplugged at the moment.
>>
Arisu and Momoka are mine
>>
>>102851249
E: drive is your cloned drive but its damaged and shouldn't be show as "RAW". On the screenshot on the left you can clearly see it named E:.
From an admin command prompt you could try:
chkdsk /f e:
But if it doesn't work just start the process again.

REALLY dumb question, but the fact that my other (unplugged) drive is also called E:/ isn't gonna break anything, right? Once I get everything working, the new SSD should be C:/ and I'll plug the E:/ drive back in.

No, it doesn't break anything, it will try to fix E:
If the drive letter is available (other drive is not plug in) windows use it for other drives.
>>

Alright, thanks. I tried that command but it says "CHKDSK is not available for RAW drives". I'll just try cloning it again and see what happens.

>>

You main drive is "dirty". Try this
1- Restart once instead of Shutting down, then restart again and before windows start boot whatever youre booting with and try to clone again.
2- Run chkdsk c: /f so it tries to fix inconsistencies with your main drive, it will ask you for a reboot so it scans before starting windows.

WOOHOO got it working. Apparently, if you just hit the "shut down" button through the start menu, it doesn't actually shut down 100%. Instead of doing what you said, I just started the PC again, typed "shutdown /s /f /t 0" in command prompt, and tried cloning again, and it worked.
Thank you anon!
>>
>>102851720
That's great.
Yeah, normal shutdown is a hybrid shutdown wich hibernate some parts of the OS.
>>
>>102851720
Yeah if you have fast startup enabled, then restart is the real "shutdown".
>>
>>102851720
crazy, It's the first time I see fast boot messing up with cloning
>>
>>102851400
it literally tells you the problem right on screen
windows kernel is hibernated, not shutdown
modern windows hibernates the kernel instead of doing a complete shutdown to speed up booting
fossshit recognizes this but doesn't fix it
you literally just restart to force windows to do a full shutdown then pull the power before it can fully start up again
or just use programs like >>102851442 which recognizes this AND fixes it so it's transparent to the user
>>
>>102851967
sure, but consider that most people don't actually know what hibernation does, or that shutdown is technically hibernation, so it's confusing to troubleshoot if you don't know that detail

Another tool other than macrium is the free SSD cloning tool manufacturers give you, the only downside is that they only work with the corresponding SSD brand but they're usually just rebranded macrium or other decent licensed software underneath

The F: drive here is what used to be the E: drive. It's the "unplugged" drive I mentioned earlier. I don't remember it ever having a System Reserved partition in the past.
H: is an external I use for random stuff, and obviously Disk 1 (with C: on it) is the new SSD where the operating system is.

This is for wireless PCVR. It is essential that the PC be connected via ethernet to the router being used and in the same room as the headset. The wrinkle here is that the router that has the internet is downstairs, and the setup with the dedicated router is upstairs and I haven't been able to run a cable yet. The easiest solution in the meantime seems to just be plug the dedicated router into the PC and give it the PC's internet. But it hasn't exactly been plug n play.

Honestly the only option is to download 95 and then keep retro-engineering drivers and various third party support until it can run modern software unperturbed.

I know there's a way to get it up to 2000 level and with Basilisk you can even watch 4k videos on it, but there should be a way to upgrade it to XP-levels since 2000 can be retrofitted to do that, and since XP can be retrofitted up to Win 10 levels it stands to reason you should be able to tweak Win 95 up to Win 10 capabilities if you fuck around with it a bit.

But why? First of all, I'm sure that security updates from IoT LTSC are going to be backported to regular LTSC or maybe even consumer editions, in the same way as there were backported from Windows XP Embedded and 7 ESU; second, software developers are probably will ditch Windows 10 support way before 2031 (like Server 2012 R2 is still supported up to 2026, and you can even install those updates on a regular 8.1 if you want, but nobody gives a damn about those versions anymore).

comfy combo, although I don't get what's the benefit of Education over Enterprise
>>
>>102866474
Basically none, but the Windows 10 ISO from Microsharts site has it on the disk so there’s no having to find an Enterprise ISO. I guess it’s placebo for me, I prefer the download comes direct from Microsoft’s site.

Manifest v3 is killing ublock on chromium browsers. Firefox will probably bend the knee at some point. Then what??????
>>
>>102866686
Firefox said they won't do that, at least on the near future, their implementation of V3 will try to not fuck with adblockers and V2 will not be ditched out, which is believable considering Firefox and Brave are aimed at those who hate Chrome already.

Will this affect edge as well?
>>
>>102866872
it's MS decision, they're not forced to, MS could play the good guys and try to use this to lure more users to Edge since from the very start they advertised Edge was more """private""" than Chrome

the AveYo mediacreationtool.bat wrapper on git hub and its up-to-date forks can get anything but LTSC.
(Right? correct me if I'm wrong here I'd rather get an iot ltsc iso from ms.com)

good luck with that, there was a whole schizoid thread about /updates/ the other day. Microsoft can and will do whatever the fuck they want when you apply one of their packaged updates.

Basically an impossible ask, anon. They all have spyware.
Best you can do is use something like Nox and follow a guide on how to block all the telemetry with hosts.txt blocking and such.

Any idea how can I create environment for testing automated Linux installations e.g. Debian using preseed file?

I think the best way would be to use Hyper-V and PowerShell but I can't figure out how to pass preseed file to VM.

Is there some way to use ISO as virtual hard drive and pass preseed file in some kind of virtual flash drive so I don't have to rebuild ISO every time I make any changes?

Except for MS Edge which Microshart keeps shoving down everyone's throat, they shouldn't re-install or at the very least be re-enabled, but I haven't updated since January so I can't say for sure.
If they do re-enable you can just go into "C:\Windows\SystemApps\" and rename the folders so they're disabled on next boot. You will need to take ownership of the folders and everything inside to do this.
