>>102917171>so will there be a performance increase, that wont me mitigated by the extra bloat of the extra GUI and processes?I don't know shit about AMD CPUs, but if your CPU and motherboard are supported by Windows 10 LTSC 2021, absolutely go for Windows 10. The laptop I use at work got the Windows 11 updoot, and it got very slow. The UI shit is not only annoying but also slow as hell. It's a humiliation ritual.
>>102913760I have Shotcut that I used for making webms out of anime scenes. It is very meh but better than the piece of garbage that I installed before it, which might have been Kdenlive but the only thing I remember about it is that it looked kinda similar and was unusable jankware.
I want to migrate from 7zip. Any advice on which one to choose: PeaZip or NanaZip?

Recommended and trusted USB fingerprint reader?Need to buy my mum a new computer. She has a nice monitor and desk setup. Windows is already botnet so who cares, I think she'd like the convenience of Windows Hello fingerprint login, especially as sometimes she sits with other people at the computer and I tell her to sheld her password from them and it's awkward. But also just for her own ease. I thought I would have to buy a laptop and set it up as desktop in the corner as desktops don't seem to have fingerprint readers. But apparently you can just attach one via USB and it does the job? That'd be great...as long as it isn't a chinese hardware 'botnet' (some kind of malicious hardware, siphoning her fingerprint and phoning home). I know that's unlikely, but still, the possibility worries me. So, know of any safe ones?
>>102917299>go for Windows 10I am running Win10 LTSC 21H2 on the desktop. It runs very well. I heard that there is a performance increase for Ryzen 3000 CPU's up through the current gen. With more performance being unlocked for each newer gen. I have a 5600x, and I'm wondering if that extra performance will be worth all the shit I'm going to have to strip out debloat and replace. I also unironically like the UI the way I now have it configured, I hate the rounded edges but ik it can be system32'ed (deleted)
>>102917835To me personally, even if it had some performance increase, it would be outweighed by the performance decrease that comes from having to use a clunky and slow UI that I genuinely hate looking at. But again, I don't have a new CPU. There's no harm in trying it out and seeing it for yourself. If you can't feel the performance increase, then it's probably whatever.I also hate the rounded corners with passion, but I'm not going to rice Windows 11 just for it to break and go back to how it was after an updoot that comes out a year later.
>>102917783t.ly slash 4wYVisomething like this is super convenient, or you could get her a security key that she can just hold on to and plug in to authenticate, that way she can have a pin, but trust that nobody can just use the pin to get in

what makes the win 10 IoT LTSC an "IoT" edition? is it just standing for internet of things that somehow makes your iot network work better or something?
i have a pretty major problem. i am unable to update my windows 11. windows update wont work and i tried to force the update using an ISO and that also didnt work. it says something about a broken service or app but it doesnt tell me what.
>>102918367it's just the successor of the Embedded edition, just a barebones Windows, it lacks a lot of basic apps and services because IoT devices won't need them. That's why IoT LTSC gets recommended a lot if you want Windows with minimal bloatware and less intrusive updates

I'm on Windows 10. When the PC displays the lock screen, I can hit any key or click any mouse button to get to the password entry screen. Then, after around 30 seconds of inactivity, the password entry screen gets auto-dismissed and the lock screen is shown again. However, if I enable>Require users to press Ctrl+Alt+Deletevia netplwiz, once I get to the password entry screen by issuing ctrl+alt+del, it doesn't return to the lock screen on inactivity. Therefore, the question is: how the fuck do I return to the lock screen without having to actually enter the password just to re-lock the PC a second later?

i posted on the last thread a play-by-play installing that latest win11 update and it worked. After messing around and wanted to start over, I tried out the built-in "Reset my PC" feature. Now that machine has the same problem and error code for the latest update as everyone else. I'm seeing pinned shortcuts disappear from the taskbar, CPU hitching/stalling.the main machine (win10 iot ent ltsc) is solid though.i was on a mission to create a gold image and a .ppkg but it went off the rails..
>>102918367
>>102918573Nta, but you're behind by one feature pack. No matter how hard you try, you won't be able to upgrade from 22H2 to 24H2 directly.I'd recommend just using group policy to force Windows updates to upgrade from 22H2 to 23H2, then 24H2.Inside search, type "Edit group policy". Then you're going to go under computer configuration / windows components / Windows updates / manage updates offered from Windows update. The group policy you're looking for is "Select the target feature update version." Enable it, and type Windows 11 in the first box, and 23H2 in the bottom box.Queue up Windows Updates, and you should start downloading the next feature pack. After you install that, follow the steps but switch out 23H2 to 24H2. Rinse and repeat. You *are* running the insider preview, so I don't know if this will work or not. Never daily drive insider previews, you cannot upgrade them easily.
>>102919920i installed this in like late 2020 when windows 11 came out. the only options back then were insider previews
>>102919998*Bonk*You do not daily drive insider previews. If you ever think of running insider previews, you need to understand that it has an expiry date. i dunno if you guys can help me with this but i'm not great at figuring it out.at my work, they recently changed the group policy to disable usb storage devices. on my work laptop, i've got access to "local admin" tool which lets me open powershell as admin, and MS management console.I tried to figure this out before because I needed to change my IP settings which were blocked by the GPO, but i managed to just find a powershell script that changed my IP instead.is there a way i can override the group policy or something? i believe the policy is domain level because i don't have any restrictions in my user account or on the machine, so i guess it's getting applied one level up.i've got my VMs i use for work on a flash drive so it's kind of a problem. i sent the IT people an email about it but i'm kind of thumbing my asshole waiting on those gears to turn.
Is there a way to even purchase Windows 10 IOT or LTSC legitimately so that you have your own auth? Do any brick and mortar retailers even sell it? Do any online stores sell an authentic physical or usb version of it?

The funniest part about this is that even with everything taken care of for you, you niggers still manage to fuck up your PC by ignoring all warnings and installing 219837387 viruses and 13952598 hobbyist system hacks that break your entire system and proceeding to blame MS and Windows for your own retardation. Forced updates on normie retards are the best thing to happen to computing, it protects braindead retard niggers like you from yourselves (usually), while having a net positive impact on computer literate users because we don't have to deal with most of your self inflicted retard problems anymore. If you need to bitch and cry about this, you don't have the IQ to own a computer. Just lynch yourself and purge your subhuman trash genes from the pool for the betterment of mankind.
>>102937800There are settings to preserve browser sessions, and settings to prevent automatic restarts after updates. You're just stupid.
>>102938062This is what happen when newfags troll babyfags
>wants me to update to Windows 11>doesn't even update me to the latest version of it
>>102938071It can’t because I use private window since I’m always looking at weird shit
>>102938132If a restart if part of the update then what good is it to accumulate updates without ever restarting moron, How about a setting to not get your faggot updated every 3 hours
>>102938130I make $275k TC a year, I could give a shit if I get a virus, I’ll just buy a new pc or pay some subhuman resentful jeet bugman like you $3 an hour to fix it
>>102938608>>102937800You're the type of person with a messy desk, messy room, messy house. You never fold your laundry right away, and you leave it piled in the laundry basket for days. Hoarders. You can delay updates for an entire month. You have to restart your computer one time every 30 days.Browser bookmarks are a thing.
>MAS has hit 100k stars on githubUh oh. I hope it doesn't get enough attention to be shut down
>>102939095If it comes to it it has backup gits. Also MS technicians were caught using it as well, it's like an open secret.
asking here because no reply in /sqt/im trying to install windows as a second osi downloaded ISO from OP and put it on usb via Ventoyduring boot I have 3 ISOs to choose fromout of curiosity i calculated the checksum and its different than original ISO.Am I doing something wrong? Also I tried booting one of them and it got stuck
>>102939189>VentoyUse Rufus, it's the best software for making Windows USB installers plus it gives you options such as enabling local accounts on any version of windows
>>102939189So you downloaded a single ISO, but you got three ISOs to choose from? I've never had that happen to me using Ventoy unless I actually have three ISOs stored on it.You need to show a bit more information as well when it comes to what ISO you downloaded from the massgrave index and such.
>>102938901Sorry but I need 200 tabs open with the possibility of going through them without ever actually going through them
>>102939122This.The only reason to have licenses in the first place is to have teeth when you do audits on SMBs and Fortune 500s. They aren't going to audit the plebs like us.
>>102939212will try>>102939245it's W10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 21H2, first one from pastebinnot sure what else I should tell youVentoy, from what I understood, operates on copy and paste instead of normal image writing. Is it possible that my ISO got fucked on that step? my setup:>1 SSD with linux mint>1 empty SSD which is meant for windows>got an error while writing image that since it's W10 ISO I must use another software like Ventoy
>>102939492When you make the Ventoy you should just place the ISOs you downloaded onto the main Ventoy partition that appears in your file explorer. The IoT LTSC 2021 ISO I got from massgrave ages ago has worked fine for me via Ventoy installation, installing it to about three computers.
>>102939531well yea that's what I did, just phrased it confusinglyI'll try another image writer now
>>102939557Post pic.

is there a prebuilt WSL2 6.x kernel somewhere if we're too lazy/dumb to build it ourselves?
