literally means that some text block is empty (only whitespace or literally 0 characters)

If you instead set a prefill with trailing whitespace, you'll get this error:

What are you looking at? You're just describing the use of name prefix.

In group chat, sending assistant token with

makes the model reply as {{char}}, without explicit instruction on who to reply as (known as "group nudge" under chat completion). Not required in solo chat.
