9800x3d "burn outs" are just people too stupid to plug a square shape into a square socket.

Turns out building a PC is actually too difficult for some people. No wonder lego is on the decline, since that's even harder.

After seeing what the retards in this thread are saying about their fuckups I start thinking maybe having everything pre-built and soldered on is not that bad of an idea.
This thought is only outweighed by my absolute want to see retards suffer by their completely preventable mistakes

I have been building a new PC for myself every 5/6 years now with my first being at age 10 with my only "training" being watching my father build a PC once and reading the fucking manual
I've built 3 for myself now + 2 for friends/family, the list of my PC building mistakes includes:
>Not realizing the gap for the cable to the CPU port on the mobo will be very smol if I don't pull the cable through before I put it in and had to fiddle with it for 20 minutes to get it through
>pre-planning my build in advance only to have to switch to a different GPU due to my original selection being out of stock and forgetting to check the case dimensions to make sure it fits, had to exchange cases which delayed my build 2 days
>not noticing that if I install almost everything on the mobo before I put it into the case will cover some of the screw-holes and having to take it apart again

I am unironically taken aback by the sheer retardation people are sharing in this thread, and I don't even dare look on reddit
How are you retards even alive

I'm baffled too ngl
I've never built a PC that didn't function on first go.
My biggest "fuck" ups that stopped a PC from working where extremely minor
>was cleaning my old NAS and removed the PSU
>I'm so blind I don't bother to read labels and connected everything back by feel
>accidentally re-attached the modular sata power cable to a pcie socket on the PSU
>PC would only turn in for a split second, realized my mistake after checking everything. PC and HDDs worked fine afterwards
2nd thing was also minor
>Attaching ARGB fans to a hub/controller
>attached both the ARGB connection to the mobo and sata power connector
>PC wouldn't start, attaching both to the above causes a short and the manual does mention only use the mobo argb or sata power one at a time
>PC starts after disconnecting sata power.

There's a 20 year old screencap here from /g/ where a guy put in an ethernet killer cable in a PC because they needed new machines in the office but management wouldn't buy it as long long as the old machines worked. They should. Or the equivalent of mucking about with the only PC in the house that was bought for 3K brand new. Learning is best when fucking up has actual risk.
But, and this is the kicker, they break it they buy it and have to fix it. They should not be able to phone any friends or get any help, just a left over A+ cert practice book and 2003's Wikipedia on CD ROM to unfuck anything they break.
Then they'll learn how it works and experience personal growth.

do you think it being AC is worse?
stupid american split phase makes it half a sine wave so you get 120v for a quick burst and then nothing for like 50ms, repeating 60 times a second.
120v dc would be much much worse because there is a continuous supply of electricity, no pulses. when an arc is made, it will continue and grow in size consuming all metal near it until it fucking explodes. high voltage DC is FAR more violent.

>>

That's not at all how split phase works.
American split phase is two independent phases but 180 degrees put of phase.
Measuring each phase in reference with ground or neutral gives 120V RMS in a continuous 60hz sine wave

Connecting a meter to both phases measures 240V.
It works because as one phase is at the crest of its wave (highest positive point in reference to ground), the other phase is in it's trough (or highest negative point in reference to ground.) Since one lead is referencing 120V and the other referencing -120v you get 240V of difference.

Putting AC into a line that expects DC is very bad, yes.

>Do you guys have any ND stories? Here are a couple of mine
>Overall you shouldn't feel too bad about NDs. It's part of owning guns, and you should get used to them.

Anyone used one of these on their 9800?
I think I'm going to get one. I mainly just don't want the excess thermal paste to drip down into those holes. It would be a bitch to clean it all off later.
>>
>>103223578
???
You can put a case horizontal when the motherboard is in it. This is peak laziness.
>>
>>103230512
Using it on my 7000 series. No issues so far.

>i killed an esdi disk by not parking it
Holy shit now that's a literal boomer ITT
Retarded boomer with that many fuckups, but still a boomer
>i pushed a sheet of paper into an iomega bernoulli and killed it
Wtf why did you do that
>i put the floppy power connector off by one pin and killed a 9800pro
How did that happen, 9800Pro used molex connectors. Unless the PC had a really shit PSU that fried the video card because of a misplaced floppy connector.
>i crunched the corners off a duron, and then an athlon, and then an athlon xp, i hope exposed dies never come back
Ffs boomer anon. I handled literally dozens of those and only slightly chipped off a Duron once. Still worked fine though

My only fuckup ever was killing an Athlon XP motherboard, when I was trying to remove the CPU heatsink+fan to replace thermal paste. The flathead screwdriver I was using to remove those damn CPU fan clips slipped, and scratched the motherboard. Didn't hit any components but must have damaged some tracks. After that I learned my lesson and I've been a lot more careful, also avoided using flatheads and used philips screwdrivers instead, I think there's less risk of damaging something if a slip occurs.

Whenever I hear a story like this I assume it's damage control for a shitty product, because there's no way someone could be so fucking stupid they can't plug in a CPU. Are you saying this really is because someone was so fucking stupid they could not plug in a CPU?

I've had a 7600X since it released. I will be upgrading in 4 years to whatever the best AM5 gaymin CPU is.
You're describing an Intel anti-consumer problem.

Based /k/ommando

First time
>At friends apartment at college. Just bought my first pistol from a gun show (I was 18)
>Drinking with friends
>Show them my new Jericho
>Try to manually decock
>Thumb slips on hammer, ND into celling
>Upstairs neighbors too high and drunk (underage and illegal drugs) to call the police.

Second time
>At range
>Showing friend pistol
>Think gun is unloaded
>Point at ground show him how to wrack and pull the trigger.
>Forgot loaded mag in
>Shoot between his feet

Third time
>At parents house.
>Just bought a sig from a guy
>Get home
>Try swapping slides with another sig I had
>Forgot the other sig slide was chambered.
>Pull trigger
>Shoot parents wall

Fourth time
>At my new house
>Playing with a friend's 5.56 AK
>Release bolt
Slam fires round into ground

Fifth time
>Showing a friend how to use it
>No idea how but a round got chambered
>Show him how the trigger works,
>Pull trigger
>Shoots round into floor in the same place as before

Sixth time
>Thought maybe the house was haunted
>Grab a sig
>Physically clear it, (racked the slide 3 times) with no magazine in
> pull trigger at the same hole
>Round goes off

Seventh time
>Friend brings over a used Glock wants me to look over it
>I grab it and pull the trigger without clearing it
>Didn't even realize the thing was loaded.

Eighth time
>Friend brings over his transferable Mac 10
>I had no idea how open bolt guns worked.
>He's showing it off to me
>I put a loaded mag it and decided to try and release the bolt (I thought it shot from a closed bolt)
>Pulled the trigger for some reason
>Shot 3 rounds into my wall

You've never owned a Delta, have you? My single exhaust 120mm pulls 8.4W / 0.7A. And that's a "quiet" one.
tl;dr Delta makes some serious shit.

I find that hard to beleive. I don't know ever since LGA775 when ever I put a pinless CPU into a socket I rock the processor in a circular motion to ensure that it's seated.
I would just assume everyone would do this. Maybe it's just me and OCD.
