not shown: chatgpt told him cars were made by a boy car meeting a girl car and then a baby car comes out
then it told the kid to drink bleach cause it tastes good and prevents disease
>>

Based. 99% of American parents don't give enough of a shit about their kids to teach them anything useful anyway.
>>
>>103215545
ah fuck that, parents in general
I'm just seething because that way I might've actually learned something for school instead of being frightened that my father yells at me every time I make a tiny mistake
>>
>>103215519
I HATE these types of GAY posts
Nobody cares about your stupid kid and TTS google machine
>>
>>103215560
Have you tried having sex with your father?
>>
>>103215545
But the kids will rather watch skibidi toilet than to turn on gpt tutor.
>>
>>103215593
Based. Skibidi toilet is peak entertainment.
>>
>>103215519
Fine as long as it doesn't raise the kid into a communist faggot.
>>
I have used chatgpt a bit as a tutor for some concepts I have been teaching myself, notably verilog programming. It can be useful for helping understand beginning-to-intermediate level concepts but the problem is that it can feed you abject bullshit. And sure a real teacher can also get things wrong, but the thing about GPT is it feeds you bullshit based on how you've steered in the prompting and this can make what it teaches you rather inbred for lack of a better term.
>>
>>103215579
How is that supposed to change the past? I'm at least capable of doing easy math now because I've had to re-learn the stuff for a degree.
I mean what's worse? A child without any parental guidance at all or a child with AI guidance? Provided the AI isn't complete garbage of course, maybe some years in the future when they fixed at least parts of the hallucination issue.
>>
>>103215519
Have fun explaining to your child later in life that half of the "facts" he knows are factually false because they were made up by some word prediction generator.
>>
>>103215622
Have you tried having sex with your father inside a time machine?

its glorified siri/bixbi. you say something it and it responds with their lookup in their proprietary database.
>>
>I gave my kid an iPad, never showed him any love or attention, why is he not turning into a well adjusted adult?
>>
>>103215621
This, the tech is fucking garbage if you're trying to learn something you know nothing about.
You need to actually understand the topic at hand because if you don't you can't know whether the output is correct or hilariously wrong.

I tried prompting some specific topics and it's like I'm talking to a retard who's spewing out random sentences and numbers just to fill out the screen.
It gives you 5 paragraphs of completely worthless data now imagine someone reading all this shit and thinking it makes sense, fucking amazing.
>>
>>103215650
Did you just assume your child's pronouns?
>>
>>103215717
Sir I speak English which has a well defined set of gendered pronouns. Do not try to change my language, it's part of my culture and heritage.

Gen AI seems amazing until you ask it something you know about and see how much it bullshits you.
And then you tell it that’s wrong and it’s like “oh yeah sorry I just made that up”
>>
>>103217343
Yes. They should be doing simple addition and subtraction by 5. A 5 year old that can't count probably has a learning disability as most can just pick up counting without instruction by then.
>>
>>103215790
1. And I can see my hand holding it and the whole room I’m in as well
>>
>>103215790
if you can recognise an apple, then you can visualise an apple, it really is that simple
the word "apple" is just a semiotic signifier pointing to the concept of an apple, which is a piece of fruit, delicious in pies but shit everywhere else

>take a minute to long or don't do it exactly correct to his standard and I'm pushed aside as if I'm useless, he will proceed to struggle with the same thing for 20min
>quit bothering to help with anything
>he gets angry later in life that "no one wants to help him"

I did not cry at all when he died last year

yeah, in a few years chatgta's gonna tell him how to off dad and make it look like an accident, take the inheritance and insurance and fly to detroit to become a pimp.

As a father of a four year old boy myself I must say ChatGPT has been a tremendous help. Our son was born during lockdowns and it was quite a taxing time for both of us to say the least -- ChatGPT helped diagnose these lingering feelings and memories as CPTSD within just a month of its release.

ChatGPT has also been an absolute godsend in terms of directly assisting our son. We're rather traditional in our parenting ways and decided early on that we were not going to use babysitters, private tutors etc. But an AI? That was an interesting thought, seeing how it lacks ulterior motives. We've been letting him use ChatGPT for a limited time every day the past year or so (started with 20 mins, now it's up to an hour). And now? He's actually genuinely enjoying learning.

I realize a place like this easily becomes an echo chamber for childless 20-something men with somewhat radical views on society, but trust me, once you help create an actual human being your view changes a lot. I bet if you asked around among parents most would admit to using AI for help these days. The technology is absolutely amazing.
>>
I would like to learn useful things with only AI and a smartphone available while waiting for shit. What do?
>>
>>103218552
You're letting the ADL teach your kid. If it's math or grammar, ok whatever but you need to teach health, science, and social studies yourself.
>>
>>103215519
Personalized tutor for K-12 students will be a thing. Online personalized AI tutor will be a thing. Hell, even age 0 -> 100 personalized AI might be a thing. I just hope all that personalized memory/data is encrypted properly and under user control

Have you ever considered not everybody reading this thread is smart? When it comes to antisemitism, I'm not replying for the back and forth banter with any of the dysgenic Mossad rats or their bots on this site, I'm doing it for the brainwashed kids reading since lurkers to posters are (or used to be) like 100 to 1, and most people weren't born knowing this shit.
>>
>>103215519
Man, these lucky kids. I'd have learnt so much if I grew up with a patient GPT tutor. Instead, I was afraid of asking questions to my teachers because they either got angry or mocked me. To a degree, similarly my dad.
>>
>>103221970
I don't know dude, whoever could thinks that it's okay to leave humanity's future to be raised by the autocomplete is a dead end and I sure as fuck don't care about trying to interact with em

I mean gatekeep a little, fuck. Raising children used to be something holy. People would put their entire being into it, there's a whole metaphysical aspect to it too. Less and less people even take part in the human experience, just surround yourself with humans and not flesh automatons.
>>
>>103215628
Thats still more ture "facts' than adults these days teach kids.
>>103215790
I was going to write a joke at his expense but then I realised this is John Green. I owe that nigga for a lot of things I've learnt from Crash Course. Him and Hank, when I was a kid. So, I'll let it pass.
>>
>>103215616
He will the very moment he says, "combustion chamber"
>>
>>103222022
I am trying to gatekeep this [AI tutor] as an idea. Explicitly saying where it could be useful but cautioning against relying on it for the things that matter - ideological and cultural/moral topics that parents have to engage with themselves. There's very little that is black or white, it's about leveraging (or exploiting) the tools and resources we have, curtailing the subversive elements, and applying it.

I feel pretty confident I could trust ChatGPT to not teach my kid to misspell things or write an essay like a nigger or how to do basic algebra. None of that matters from an ideological or moral standpoint. Other topics have severe implications in shaping how your kid views himself and the world around him.

But inb4 parents will just turn their kids loose with it and they'll be asserting the holohoax is real and there's one race - the human race. That's going to happen with retards with or without me. I'm talking to the ones that understand nuance.
>>
>>103215790
I swear the issue with this visualization thing is how literally people are interpreting this.
John Green here even explicitly says "The way your eyes see?"
Taken literally like this, I am a 5 as well. I mean, I can visualize things in my mind, they just aren't literal images in the same style of visual data obtained through my eyes.
I once experienced (1) when I was still in a hypnagogic state shortly after waking up and still lying in bed. I looked down at the foot of my bed and then it's like my consciousness was sucked out of my body and I was teleported to a forest where I saw trees and plants exactly as I do through my eyes in real life, however, my physical body was just lying in bed at the time -- the forest was all in my head.

>>
>>103215786

>>
>>103215519
This would be neat if it wasn't shiti n a critical situation. Learning and exploring a topic seems to be a prime use of it, but you constantly have to worry about it making shit up, either from a bad dataset or the weird way it "optimized" the answer to the prompt.
