I want to look at getting a color eink for comics and Manga. Something with local sd storage.
Beyond that, I don't know what else to be on the lookout for. Would like recommendations on affordable options and what to avoid. Seems like most are 7.8 or 7.9 inches. Is that an optimal size for those types of things?

Boox are basically the only ones that have all those things.

>Color Eink Readers
when did it came out?
last I checked it was black and white onlyy

Seems to be a somewhat recent trend. I'm seeing them pop up here and there. Amazon just announced one I think.

What about Pocketbook Inkpad Color 3? Bigme B751C?
I think both have 8 inch versions and microsd

China specials that are currently most successfully gaming the Amazon search algo.

Just double checked. The Boox nor the one I mentioned... None seemingly have sd card slots.

You hade to remind me what happen to my poor Boox Note 2.

I had a smaller one before this one and I can tell op that 10 inches is way better for manga and defiantly comics. A 10 inch will be about the same size as a US comic book and I think 7-8 inch ones are close to the size of manga paperbacks.

The Boox Go 7 has a card slot.

Online reviews boasted about a 7 to 8 inch sweet spot. But I sort of figured 10 inch was the way to go given comics.

Is there an issue with Manga being stretched on a 10 inch display? Or not really?

Sounds like my conditions will be 10 inch color eink with SD card slot. I'm guessing I may not find anything in the market that matches at this rate.
Maybe I'll have to settle for OTG ready instead. I really don't want to though.

My Note2 10inch's only issue with manga is that the page is just a bit too small, so it show 1 whole page and about 10% of the next in the same frame, so tap to page turn overshoots and gets about half of 2 pages in the same frame. Though, it might be just a viewer app problem and I'm too lazy to fix it.

Example of what I'm talking about.
Although after fucking with stuff in settings, it seems only a problem if you want it continuous view and a bezel to bezel picture.

Sounds fixable. And doesn't look bad at all

No and some of them like Witch Hat Atelier benefit form the big size. I think manga magazines are close to 10 inch but most of them don't have super detailed art that you would miss out with something small.

It's good for manga that have very detailed art but all of them are drown to be readable as pocket paperbacks so you are not miss out to much.
I haven't tried read us comics on a 7 inch and I don't think it would be as good.
