Black Friday is around the corner and that means it's TV buying season. This thread is for all info, questions and deals regarding televisions.
This thread will NOT get over 100 comments! Also, I have an Insignia NS-40D510NA21 which is an objectively amazing regular TV. Let me guess. You need MORE!
>>103220762why is it mounted three feet too high?
>>103220802Because you touch yourself at night, you naughty boy!
>>103220762>Insignia NS-40D510NA21Edge lit piece of shit only fit for the third world
>>103220821Is she watching me? H-hawt.
>>103220859Yes!
>>103220821why does mercy look overweight now
>>103220910It must be your perception.
>>103220616TV buying season is when the retailer does their transition and the TVs are clearance. Black Friday is ripoff season.
>>103220616Have we finally reached the point where there isn't any reason to not buy OLED anymore?
>>103220616Modern TVs are absolute garbage poisoned by Google and Amazon shit software you can't bypass. Get ready to be greeted by digital billboards of DEI shows you couldn't care less about every time you turn on YOUR TV. Should I even begin on how slow and buggy OS is? I've got Sony A95k last year and it crashes or freezes at least once a month and when it does there's no physical button or anything to even restart it. You have to unplug it from a wall because "smart" remote stops working too. Speaking of which it has to UPDOOT too so instead of being bombarded by just OS notifications you get that on top. Whenever I turn on TV there's just always some fucking bullshit about it. Probably won't even get 1/2 of my money back if I put it up for sale now. Only monitors/old TVs/projectors from here. I simply don't care how good image quality is if this is what you have to put up with.
>>103221102>I've got Sony A95k last year>Sony A95k>Sony
>>103221119It was a choice between Sony and Samsung. It's not like we have 100 different brands at high end.
>>103221205LG is the only choice for OLED
>>103220616>have 2015 samsung>now shows 'anynet+ device has disconnected' all the time, but my hdmi source and receiver devices outside the tv are still working finesounds like time for a sony bravia 7.
>>103221261not a bad option if you can't afford the bravia 9 and don't want to go oled.
>>103221102I've noticed this as well. Every modern TV appears to contain a little android jeetphone that you use to control it. You are required to subscribe to multiple streaming platforms in order to get all the networks you want to watch. For the record, I only know of this because my parents complain about it. I don't watch TV.
>>103221102>Google and AmazonYou're supposed to buy an Apple TV for the seamless tvOS experience
>>103221278so don't connect your TV to the outside internet and run a plex server on your home network for it to stream content from. this isn't a hard problem to solve.
>>103221277i only want/need a 55" tv, so no bravia 9 for me. for some reason my sony isn't selling the 65" bravia 9 in my local market, so i can't just jump up a size for it.no interest in getting oled.
>>103221299You expect boomers to do this? Seriously?
>>103221297>Apple TV for the seamless tvOS experienceit's pretty good, but don't get sucked in to buy apple homepods with them.
>>103221314it's not my problem your parents are dimwitted third worlders who can't figure out they shouldn't wear sandals in the winter.
>>103220616>expensive ass house the fuck that nigga watching
>>103221297TV still runs Android in the background and can freeze if you try adjusting picture settings. Apple TV only outputs HDMI signal. You can't actually substitute shit TV software/hardware with it.
>>103221371That's just a generic stock photo, sweetie!
>>103221311>>i only want/need a 55" tvget 65" you will regret 55" I sure did
>>103220616am i going to finally have to bite the bullet and get a smart tv if i want proper 4K HDR and so on?can a nice 32" computer monitor really not work?
>>103221507i can't even imagine buying 65" anymore desu. 77" is now my bare minimum and i'm very much looking forward to quality 100"+ tv's becoming commonplace and affordable.
>>103221512>can a nice 32" computer monitor really not work?honest question. when is the last time you got laid??
>>103221507i have considered it, but my room is a bit narrow, i need space for my bookshelf speakers and their stands, and i would need a new tv bench.
>>103221240Panasonic if you can deal with fire tv os
>>103221587failed company with a third rate OS vs industry leader with everyone's favorite OS. it's not even a choice.
>>103221605>TV choice is now dictated by OS not the picture/sound/build quality The absolute state of technology
>>103221426You shouldn't adjust picture settings more than once. Set it and forget it.
>>103221102You don't need to connect a Sony/Google TV to the internet ever.
>>103221641i don't even need to mention picture quality because everyone knows LG OLEDS are king anon.
>>103221700>WOLED>king
>>103221670I don't know why you trying to paint it as user error when we talking about $2000+ high end product. It should be near flawless if it's best Sony offering instead it works as budget chinese android phone.
>>103221727Samsung QDOLEDs are pure dogshit televisions and everyone knows it. the only other legit brand that makes a QDOLED is sony and they're charging double for the A95L. LG IS KING.
guys so recently I cracked my 2021 QE65Q70AATXXU model 65 inch while playing Mario party accidently, realised I have house accidental damage contents insurance so very lucky. I'm thinking of getting a 77inch OLED. Definitely 77 inch. I've put the claim through the other week, but I don't want to miss the sale. I was looking at the 2024 S85D OLED on Samsung. Samsung has a thing where they collect your tv on delivery and knock a 100 off. reckon my insurance company will need to see any more of my current cracked tv? never done it before. sent them pics and receipts already. is the burn in risk worth oled? any ideas what to do or help would be good I was gonna make a seperate thread but yeah a bit lost bros. budget is about the price of the 285D OLED I linked. so a little over £2k including deals.much love
>>103221564tomorrow
>>103222536also i use the tv for gaming in a pretty dark room for movies and gaming
>>103221240>le green tinted picture>le not total black, but greyish black scenes lg oleds are only good for tranny gamers
sony is genuinely retarded. bravia 7 55" isn't even released in my third world country (bangladesh). and if i want a 55" x90l, with warranty it will cost me 1585 usd, without warranty 1285 usd. x90l 65" x90l without warranty costs 1735 usd and with warranty 2500 usd. wat do now. need a new tv.
>>103220616>>103220762Boomers as so fucking retarded. They hang TVs high up on the wall and on top of dressers lmao hahahahaha
>>103223458Go to the store, see what looks good to you in person and buy that. I wouldn’t buy OLED for gaming but that’s me.
>>103223427You're obsessed with trannies, sweetie!
>>103224395Every single time too. I think it’s because they’re all reclined back in their lazyboy chairs.
Hell yes, can’t wait.
>>103227022>he keeps spamming his objectively shitty purchaseEnjoy your burn-in issues, you chump!
>>103223458aren't you supposed to be poor in Bangladesh?
should I buy a LG C4 42" for pc/maybe console use or a 32" 4k 240hz QDOLED? priced closecan't decide hard choices
>>103229062Post your TV.
>>103229757I already answered this. Both are awesome!
I have seen some really nice TCL and Hisense TVs on sale lately. Not sure what's better at 500 bucks. The TCL qm7 55'' I saw at bestbuy looked great, however. My last tv purchase was a ~2019 vizio m-series 65''. Mini LED has come a long way since then, I guess.
I know more about displays than you. I avoid OLED outside of phones.>but muh ecelebs!Deal with it.>okay tell me why you stay away from OLED!No. I don't feel like helping.
>>103220616
Are higher end TVs worth it? I've got a 4k 50" chink no-name LED TV from about 2020 and it's always been great only problem I have is it's 30hz(or my HDMI cable is) I think. Looking to upgrade to a bigger one 65"+ so I can give this one to my brother.
>>103232553A QLED form TCL or Hisense is the best bang for buck option right now. I highly reccommend not using the built in software and instead getting a Chromecast, Nvidia Shield, or Apple TV
For me, it's a projector
>>103232587Thanks I'll look into it. I drive it as a 2nd display to watch media from my desktop PC and occasional car racing game. Is the picture quality noticeably better?
>>103232623Even midrange modern QLEDs completely mog older LCDs, especially when it comes to contrast in HDRI don't bother hooking my stuff up to a PC anymore, I just stream it all from a local Plex server. Jellyfin is the FOSS alternative
>>103229757im thinking of this one toolgc4 42” of alienware 4k qdoled i want the xbox and playstation for surewaiting for nintendos next console
>>103229110in some way, yes>>103224801i'm well aware of oled issues. i'd only get led/miniled
>>103232616The problem with projectors is needing a completely light controlled ace for it to not be total dogshit. I would sooner spend all that money in a giant 100”+ LED tv that works no matter the lighting conditions.
>>103230793>I already answered this.where>Both are awesome!sure but which is better>>103231837there is no nobility in poverty my friend, I suggest you get your money up, not your funny>>103232759the aw doesn't have that many ports, 2 hdmi and lose one if you are gonna use eARC for sound, or maybe you can use the usb-c for sound, idkc4 has way more portsI would have gotten the pg32ucdm but... prices
Should I wait for so-called Black Friday deals on high refresh rate TVs?I saw a FB marketplace ad for what appears to be 55U7G for $350 that is tempting.
