Just because you're using a passive cooler doesn't mean you can get away with not using case fans. Instead of gimping yourself just build a normal computer and put it in another room if noise bothers you that much.

For what?
For gaming, you could probably get away with a 9800X3D and some PBO tuning. Pairing that with a 3050 seems dumb though, unless you love your autism sims, so a 7600/9600X would be more realistic.
For work it's probably the 7900 non-X (or the X limited to 88W).

That's all assuming you're going full passive - with some case airflow, or even just the A12x25 add-on, your options open up a lot.

I hate my pc. I dont know what the fuck is up with this piece of shit but i always had problems from day 1 with the build. From coil whine to psu whine to my ssd (that has amazing reviews) being a piece of shit with 1/10 of the advertised speed. My built in motherboard sound being a piece of shit aswell. I just want to start over... I spent money buying different fans aswell because i thought my issue with the noise was with the fans and then that didnt fix anything even though i bought the "best" fans. I "tuned" the fans in the bios and i was never satisfied. I just cant stand it any longer. I hate this piece of shit and i shouldnt have dumped my money into trying to troubleshoot it more and more.

Coil whine sure is unfortunate, I only ever experience it with some games that uncap the framerate and it goes into thousands and it was fixed by capping system framerate on nvidia control panel.
Psus should be quiet, idk why yours wouldnt be.
SSDs typically cant sustain speeds for large file transfers so thats normal.
If you want you can buy a 100€ dac/amp with a volume knob and get headphone sound through that.
Case fans do need rubber connetors so they dont vibrate the case and cause noise that way, other than that you can prob cap the fan speed with software.

Well that sucks but for clarification it was the kingston kc3000. Just terrible speeds from the get go. Everyone else seems to have amazing speeds.
>If you want you can buy a 100€ dac/amp with a volume knob and get headphone sound through that.
Buying a dac/amp is something everyone should do. It certainly was a improvement over my shitty motherboard built in audio.

So is the Cultists tier list wrong?

(this will be for a low-end machine)
>>
>>103225591
Cultists list has it in Tier B* so I wouldn't trust it with an i9+4080 type build but should be fine for midrange components. On the other hand I would ask why you're considering this? SFF is for moneyed people; if you're on a strict budget just build (m)ATX.

*required to have OTP (claimed), to have OPP tested (detier to tier C if failed), be based on ACRF or ZVS primary, DC-DC secondary topology, and have APFC with full VAC input range (100-230V); voltage regulation and ripple should be in spec under 110% overload; 12V ripple below 100mV under 110% overload; should be rated for continuous operation at minimum 40°C ambient
>>
>>103225639
also this is for building a spare machine from parts I already own

> Ryzen 5 5600X
> NCase M1 v6.1
> 32 GB DDR4
> SSDs

Just need a SFX PSU + cheap GPU
>>
>>103225673
see >>103225662

Those components will pull <300W (assuming a <200W GPU) so it should be okay. Not what I'd put in a main rig but it seems this will be some sort of secondary.

i have one. it's a good case overall but it has some annoyances.
i have the rgb version and the fan cables are really short so you're forced to chain them together. cable management is a pain, more so if you use the hdd tray on the back.
the front buttons/ports are on top which means they collect dust unless you cover them up (i just used tape but you can buy little dummy plugs).
the ones with coloured interior look nice but they make it so you're forced to either use one specific colour of lighting or turn rgb lights off because if you use, for example, the rainbow glow the whole thing looks mismatched.

computers are extrinsic positional possessions.

Everyone here is always comparing their computers to other people's. Those who have a more powerful or kino set up derive higher /g/ status, which is a seemingly desirable achievement when social market value outside 4chuddies is unobtainable, or simply uninteresting.

Buyers remorse sisters? Please just take it easy.

Comparison sisters? Please just be happy with what you have.

Upgrade sisters? Don't think going from a 4060TI to a 5090 is going to change your life. You'll hedonistically adapt to it and be left feeling lonely.

Just ordered an MSI 4070ti Super shadow for $712 before tax. Putting it in my current setup will bring my total TDP to 464W so I'm wondering if my 600W platinum corsair PSU will handle it, or if it could end up frying my new shit. I do know its not ideal in terms of efficiency however.

Also, I opted to trade in(Newegg) my Powercolor red devil 6600xt in for $121. Is that good enough of a deal to follow through with sending it in once i get the new gpu in or should I just keep as a spare/throw it into my home lab?

>>
>>103226915
It'll need either native 12VHPWR or 3x 8-pin connectors for the adapter. It doesn't technically need all three separately - daisy chaining would be fine for that card - but any decent 850W unit should have one or the other. Since 12VHPWR, in some form or another, doesn't seem to be going away I'd suggest an ATX3.X model.
All the other cables - ATX, EPS, SATA, etc. - are fully standardized and any PSU will have them.

I plan on moving over to AM5 yet choosing ram is more tiresome than I originally assumed

I heard 6000mt is the 'sweet spot' yet going to 6400 will slightly increase performance and anything higher than that is slower up until >8000 which requires a bit of tinkering around to get working

Should I just buy a 6000 kit then overclock it to 6400 and adjust the infinity fabric or whatever the fuck it's called? The main issue is there are a bunch of decent 32gb kits yet my use case would benefit from 64gb which has less options

I mean yes but samsung monitors ship with shitty tizen os and tv hardware
also already mentioned the upsides of lg here

>samsung g6 oled
yeah but 1440p and matte and samsung, i don think this one has smart tv features though

also, dell just gave me a discount code im not sure if its -10% or -15% yet gonna have to wait

if it's 15 the aw32 will cost 740€ which is cooked
if its 10 it will be 784€

c4 42 will go for 821€

the g6 1440p360 scamsung is going for 600€

is there a good way to search for specific things on motherboards? shopping on merchant sites seems to be a lost cause as they tend to input the information wrong. Specifically I'm looking for on am5 the cheapest option that will give you 2 full bandwidth x16 cpu slots and 1 x8 slot that can be either chipset or cpu and can even provide as low as x4 bandwidth, I need x8 more for power to the card rather than bandwidth. I don't trust any brand so whatever's the cheapest I'll get.

FSR upscaling is generally considered poor
Most people bu nvidia because dlss has best image quality and most games these days launch assuming you'll use upscaling.

AMD did ai based upscaling for ps5 pro and next gen gpus will doo too but like nvidia and intel it likely requires specific hardware that makes the software not work on previous gpus.

$210 for 3TB ~ £55/TB (note the currency change)

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/products/internal-hard-drive/#D=1&A=4000000000000,24000000000000&sort=price&page=1
There's quite a few drives under £55/TB
>NV2 £45/TB
Classic mystery meat cheapo drive. Worse than the 870Evo in every way except sequential but also not in a way that matters for a storage mule.
>NM790 £54/TB
Cheapest confirmed TLC model. Good all-rounder for a budget OS drive or premium storage.

Cheapest "top spec" PCIe4 drive. Standard >100L TLC and E18 combo. Yes it's marginally more expensive but probably worth it if you're not on a strict budget.

nta but DACs are basically solved. You're just looking at features vs. price and that's if you even want a separate DAC - plenty of good combo units out there (if it takes USB or optical then it has a DAC in it).
