Now tell me why I shouldn't get this version of the ZenBook S14 over a slightly more expensive base 14 inch MacBook Pro, which has a worse screen, fewer RAM, fewer storage, no WiFi-7, no Linux support, weighs more and has far less SW compatibility in general? Provide one good argument that isn't corporate bootlicking

Wait for linux snapdragon arm laptop from tuxedo, I think the battery life might be better. OLED display drains battery a lot.

Here’s one key consideration: ecosystem integration.

The MacBook Pro, despite the hardware differences, integrates seamlessly with other Apple devices and services. This means if you're already invested in the Apple ecosystem (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods, etc.), the continuity features like Handoff, Universal Clipboard, AirDrop, and iCloud make your workflow smoother and more cohesive. This level of integration can significantly enhance productivity and user experience in ways that raw hardware specs can't always capture. If ecosystem integration isn't important to you, the ZenBook S14 seems like an excellent choice based on your criteria.

Another consideration is the software ecosystem:

Professional Software: Certain high-end professional software, particularly in creative industries like video editing (Final Cut Pro) and music production (Logic Pro), are either exclusive to macOS or have optimized versions for it. If you rely on these tools, the MacBook Pro might offer a more seamless experience.

Security and Privacy: macOS is often praised for its robust security features and strong emphasis on user privacy. Apple's stringent privacy policies and integrated security measures can provide an added layer of protection compared to other operating systems.

Resale Value: MacBooks tend to retain their value better over time. If you plan on upgrading in a few years, you might get a better resale price for a MacBook Pro compared to other laptops.

These factors might not outweigh the technical specifications for you, but they are worth considering depending on your specific needs and preferences.

shant be buying until it is the exact same experience. Refuse to buy cucked garbage anymore. If the drivers aren't upstreamed in the kernel, it's botnet.

OLED is a downside for me since I don't use my computer to watch movies and play games in a pitch black room. I use my computers to do productive work and i expect them to last for minimum 5 years. That's why I buy Apple laptops. If I wanted to run unsupported OS on planned obsolescence hardware I would buy what you are proposing.

>I think the battery life might be better
I'm willing to sacrifice a few hours of battery (which will even out on the next gen x86 chips, Lunar Lake is already very efficient) for infinitely better software compatibility and universal ISOs, unlike on ARM laptops which need a special build for each model. x86 and UEFI provide you a freedom and software library that simply doesn't exist on anything ARM

>>Core™ Ultra 7 258V, ARM-like efficiency while maintaining decades of x86 compatibility
lmao no. Intel just directed outlets to cheat on the benchmarks. They were told to run performance benchmarks while plugged in so it can run at significantly higher power. And then had the battery life benchmarks run separately without testing performance again. Intel pulled every dirty trick in their book to underplay how badly Qualcomm's snapdragons are kicking their asses for ultra thin laptops

And even considering annoying ticks like that, it's not a lie Intel blew out Qualcomm, their direct competitor with Windows, on single core performance and gets reasonably close in battery to the point the x86 translation overhead nullifies Qualcomm's advantage. It's not Apple, sure, and Intel should be ashamed of that but it isn't like that is a dealbreaker with where in the market Lunar Lake sits.

there is no equivalent to macs

macs have:
>soldered SSD/RAM/WLAN
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>when pajeetOS runs out of RAM it swapfile rapes the SSD to death within 3 years
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>when the SSD dies it bricks your entire currybook because the EFI is stored on the soldered SSD to save $0.05 on a dedicated chip
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>riveted keyboard that requires total destruction of the chassis to replace
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>serial numbered battery that prevents boot if you replace it yourself
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>screens so fucking shit they have over 90ms response times (essentially 10Hz)
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>flexgate cables that are so brittle they crack from opening your screen past 90 degrees more than 2 dozen times
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>screen made from pajeet trash glass that cracks from temperature change in seasons or tape over the iBotnet webcam
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>so fire and explosion prone the FAA have banned them from all flights
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>uses phone CPU that's so shit it gets destroyed by half decade old i3s from 2017 and can only "compete" by cheating at benchmarks in extreme edge cases with hardware accelerators
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs
>curryniggers at apploo get so full of sniffing their own currynigger silicon shit they ship currybooks with no fans and they run so hot they melt the keyboard keys
doesnt exist on 99% of PCs

>keyboards with 63.5% failure rate
unheard of on PCs, and yet you curryniggers defend it with "jus werx fer me!"
just because you're in the 36.5% survivor group doesn't make your currynigger trash any good
this list goes on forever
there's no PC laptop as total fucking currynigger shit as crapple's streetshitter books
they are one of the biggest heaps of steaming currynigger shit in the history of computing second only to curryPhones

this might have been true in the year 2010 of our Lord. but we are near 2025.
I can take your very first example, most of laptops PC have soldered RAM now. hell, even ThinkPads had soldered RAM since 2015... 10 years ago.
anyway picrel kek

>>when pajeetOS runs out of RAM it swapfile rapes the SSD to death within 3 years
Im using a MacbookAir from 2013 to write this post. never had a single hardware failure.
>>when the SSD dies it bricks your entire currybook because the EFI is stored on the soldered SSD to save $0.05 on a dedicated chip
how come I could swap the SSD from my dad's Macbook without a single problem then?
>>riveted keyboard that requires total destruction of the chassis to replace
who the fuck changes his laptop keyboard? unless you have a thinkpad, it's a pain to change on any model. anyway go to the gym instead of having 4 pounds of grease in each of your fingers u fat fuck lol
>>serial numbered battery that prevents boot if you replace it yourself
surprising, since I changed the battery on my 2013 MacbookAir twice already :D
>>screens so fucking shit they have over 90ms response times (essentially 10Hz)
only a gamer or a youtube doing an in-depth comparison would complain about this. 99% of users are satisfied with the quality of the panel and don't care about your 10 ms reponse time diff
>>flexgate cables that are so brittle they crack from opening your screen past 90 degrees more than 2 dozen times
woaaa, only happened in 2016-2017. hurr durr
>>screen made from pajeet trash glass that cracks from temperature change in seasons or tape over the iBotnet webcam
whatever you want to say Abishek
>>so fire and explosion prone the FAA have banned them from all flights
it's only banned in 2nd and 3rd class because you're too poor to afford a Macbook
>>uses phone CPU that's so shit it gets destroyed by half decade old i3s from 2017 and can only "compete" by cheating at benchmarks in extreme edge cases with hardware accelerators
cope. M1, M2 and M3 are the best on the market, by far.
