>Search this one, pretty old vocal cover for one song
>Search query is literally "Song name vocal cover"
>Get, in no particular order:
>One or two vocal covers (but that's it)
>Dozens of guitar/piano/flute etc. covers despite specifying vocal in the query
>Even more worthless reaction videos of faggots reacting to said covers
>X-core versions
>Semi-relevant results for song that has absolutely no relation to the query search but it's made by the same people
>Reuploads of the song itself with no changes
>Most of these don't even have "vocal" in the video title
>Finally, search completely gives up and recommends video that have nothing to do at all with the query
WHAT the hell has gone wrong with YouTube search? Why am I getting worthless garbage in my results when I just want to search for ONE single fucking vocal cover of this goddamn song?
Seriously fuck this piece of shit retard website
>>

Yeah I've noticed youtube's search has gone to shit too
>Search for x
>Shows 3 results for x, then endless results for random totally unrelated shit
I wish we had something better
>>
>>103226795
>search is dogshit
Yup. It's most likely part to help crack down on "copy write content" fucking joke.
>>
This is the result of letting MBAs and stockholders make decisions. It's probably the worst thing that can happen to your company. MBAs and stockholders heard about zoomers having absolutely no attention span, so they push out of their lane as usual and make the decision to push out "recommended content" that zoomers tend to click on.

Fortunately YouTube categorises the videos that it recommends based on search instead of search results, so you can filter those out with ublock origin. The search results will still be shit though, but at least you can filter some of the guaranteed crap.
>>
>>103226795
Use extensions to fix it.
>>
Also, the more they try to influence and censor the search results, the more the general search quality suffers. They do it all the time, from pushing MSM videos when you try to look for Alex Jones memes, Trump memes or anything that has the names of the big bad people you're supposed to hate, or searching for anything that contains that one nasty word relating to a group with a high amount of melanin, and the list goes on.

IMO that ultimately ruined YouTube search, as well as Google search. The moment you try to introduce a political bias for your own purposes, you royally fuck up your product for everyone else.

>Looking for an old funny video of a German dude filming his doorbell that's running out of batteries and playing frosty the snowman in the worst version known to man
>At the end the doorbell falls off the wall and the guy yells "scheise"
>Video is called "suicidal doorbell" or something like that
>You are not alone! Here's a suicide prevention hotline you can call
Fuck off I'm looking for a funny doorbell video.
Maybe the suicide hotline has the link I guess.

yep, a hosting platform that delete everything it doesn't like or makes you impossible for you to find the content is no longer a hosting platform by definition

internet trusted YouTube to host their videos and YouTube fucked everyone it the ass
>>
>>103227062
You use Linux don’t you lmao
>>
>>103227679
It's not even that. Those spicy memes still exists on the platform, but if you try to use the key words to find them, the search will get manipulated and the results will be flooded with irrelevant videos where it's really blatant that they're manipulating them to tell you what to think. They're not subtle about it in any way, chances are they'll achieve the opposite result from the desired because of it, and it 100% fucks up how the search algo handles everything else.

Google has been shooting themselves in the foot for years, for fucking nothing. Their guys didn't win and everyone who didn't give a shit just gets a worse product.

>search for anything
>all listed videos are made by indians
>>
>>103227740
You're right, I didn't know how to say it best.

Ideally, a video hosting platform would let you browse the entirety of what it have and you'd be able to make precise queries based on keywords, channel, video length, view, date, tags, etc.. Title keyword, date and tags particularly important. They query should not hide results. The uploaders could put associate any number of tags to their video so that people can easily find it.

With all that inplace you could build a related search feature mostly based on the various tags and how often 2 tags are used together to describe a single video.

No, I sit around and complain about things that are easily fixed.

Oh, but their guys did win.

I think I remember anons on here saying to use Bing video to search YouTube instead or something like that. Either way, certain extensions can remove all the extra results from searches (stuff like "people also watched/searched for" etc.). I'd be more precise, but I don't remember which ones.
>>
>>103228713
I hope you remember. Also seems to be no fix for revanced. Fucking great

>>103227602
>look up papa roach - last resort because it's time for some of that old skool early 2000s shit
>get the same bullshit disclaimer
Fuck off youtube. I'm not an heroing, I'm listening to music.

>>103228070
Yeah, nice guide. I'll bet it was last updated when you could still put yt:stretch and yt:crop in the description to modify the video looked and fix accidental render mistakes without re-rendering and re-uploading.
>>
>>103226795
fake. Half of the results aren't just random other youtubers you watch or get recommended
>>
youtube pushes porn while censoring the truth.
>>
>>103226795
Everything is a scam. A robot determined these shit results are the best way to keep the majority on the platform or clicking ads.

Big tech corps can't seem to help themselves from breaking their search engines. Amazon is slowly dying now because of it and ebay has become unusable and also dying. Compromising search results with algorithmic bullshit has become the Achilles Heel of tech. They get short term gains but it ends up pushing people away long term, and then their numbers start falling but they can't change course, and they actually just double down on the flawed business model in a spiraling descent.
>>
>>103226795
Google is an ad company now that puts less than the bare minimum effort into search anymore.
>>
>>103230078
It's less a matter of old man memory issues and more of laziness so I'm just gonna say Unhook as that covers most stuff.

>want to listen to Bloodsucker 2000, a cheesy obscure old song from the VTM Bloodline soundtrack
>the song lyrics contain the word torture
>hard locked behind the strongest age restriction category, that even userscripts and alt frontends can't bypass
Thankfully, there are plenty of re-uploads that didn't get flagged by the bot for whatever reason, but still.
>>
that's because nobody searches for covers of songs

The recommendations are also getting worse and worse. It's gotten incredibly difficult to find anything worth watching on youtube these days. How do you guys find anything to watch?
>>
>>103226795
>[Song name] "vocal" cover -guitar -piano -flute -reaction
>before: year (if you know when it was uploaded)
Learn2google retard. The jews are always looking to fuck you over in every little possible way they can.

>Ah, the times where you could use search operators to get precisely what you want. Pepperidge farm remembers.
Those also used to exist on normal, full web google, but nowadays it’s always
>how to turn your search idea into a question
>OK, how would a retard ask that question?
>type that question
>hope that there are some usable results in the shitpile of SEO spam you get as results.

I hate this so fucking much. The company that invented "wow this search is so good" streetshit into their own pot instead of just using the loo.
