The mic isn't removable for privacy reasons, it's removable because you don't want a fucking mic stick poking down in your face all the time. But maybe you need a mic for a quick call when you have it removed so there's an internal one too. If you disable the "headset" device under recording devices, you can stop anything from using it. This comes with the added benefit of preventing it from being thrown into fuckshit quality monaural mode whenever an app looks for a mic if it's Bluetooth.

Or is the "removable mic" just a tube that brings sound to the internal mic?
