first step in securing your shit is to decrease the surface of attack, /lgbt/tourist

remove the sim card, snap it in half.

it doesnt even matter what phone you have.
be you, someone with a phone and bank account.
a hacker finds your account login credentials from a data leak because you are stupid and use the same 1-2 passwords for everything.
So the hacker pays someone in Moldova $300usd to gain access to their countries cellular network backbone called SS7, the hacker then logs in, the verification code is sent via text to the hacker instead of you because they used SS7 to claim your phone was roaming in another country and redirected the text to a rogue imsi claiming to be you.
now they have your bank account and empty your balance to -$5000
and you cant do shit about it because lmao nooooo we cant turn off 3G because muh 1.7% of people still using it afraid of change

>>103227596
every single bank in the US uses your phone for verification at minimum.
unless you are 70 years old and do all your banking in person, you are using 2fa on your laptop or pc or tablet or whatever, and if the 2fa is sms or voice, you are at risk.

dont use phonebanking. simple as
do your banking ops in person
if you cant,
every app you have installed on your phone is a possible vulnerability, so you want it to be as barebones as possible
im not a phonefag so i couldnt teach you to harden android
i gave mine to my father once i didnt need it anymore (i needed it for school things)
>>
>>103227695
If you followed the steps at >>103227464 you don't need any of that.

Degoogle, or minimize it's use, don't install ads infested shit, or look for workaround/front end alternatives that are open source, same as you keep your pc nice and tidy with commonsense 2024 November update, you can just use that for your phone

>>103227995
>desperate
i didnt even read it
i dont give a fuck about normalspace things, or the traps associated with these
youre a clinical retard so i will reiterate:
you dont do securtty through tinkertransition
you reduce the attack surface like a normal person, then you see from there if its only worth more effort
>>
>>103228017
ios has a smaller attack surface than android...
it's getting embarrassing, you should stop.
>>
>>103228056
im not even sure about that given the articles
and using phonebanking is like leaving your car with its keys in the ignition
youre telling me the keys are dark in color so the thief is less likely to see them
when im telling you its an utterly retarded practice to begin with
itoddlers and their cargo-cult...
>>
>>103228072
I'm not telling you anything, sar
YOU brought up attack surface and security through obscurity, for some reason
I just pointed out ios has, undeniably, a smaller attack surface than android. that's a fact

>>103228263
bad-pr is not the same thing as "anti-advertisement", and certainly isn't "being for gay people".
you could, theoretically, bring in as many new faggots as you lose straight customers
>>
>>103227946
>>103228291
>same shit different packaging
why are phonefags retarded?
>>
>>103227499
Apple users accuse non-apple users of being Pajeets. Everyone else accuses anyone speaking favourable of Apple of being a Pajeet.
So what do Pajeets actually buy?
>>
>>103228295
>and certainly isn't "being for gay people".
now thats cope
trump was elected bc everyone has faggot-fatigue
yes, for this exact reason. the vast majority of the electorate has no idea how the economy works
>>
>>103228319
nah, THAT's cope
I'm not american and you aren't either, but we both know trump won because joe was a terrible president and the woman, being utterly retarded, would be even worse
>>
>>103227141
create a fake identity. every time you get a spam call, add it to your contact list as a relative of your fake id. use your brain to learn phone numbers like we all did before this garbage started.
>>
>>103228346
you overestimate americans
they dont identify aipac as a foreign influence, believe that big corpo is an example of efficiency and they call nationalizing the heaviest industry- communism
faggots are the reason trump got elected.
its the same reason every right winger gets elected
because they are the glove that keeps the hand clean so to speak
>remove faggots bc muh bad
>but the electricity is still hyperinflated, all the while bulk price for electricity is at a 10-year low
>the difference is already multiples of the money spent on the jewcraine war, by both sides, because were talking about ~10% of europe's GDP
>everyone pays, nobody cares, or ask questions
i told you the electorate is, on average, retarded
the more elite people know about this swindle
but the normgroids who constitute the vast majority of votes know shit and only from hearing
ergo:
they voted trump bc le gayses and tranny reading hours
>>
>>103228411
>you overestimate americans
no, I don't
they elected a 130yo man with dementia, and then half the country proceeded to vote for a 40yo karen with dementia
anyway let's go back to talking about flamewars and calling each other jeets
>>
>>103228467
>let's go back to talking about flamewars and calling each other jeets
agreed. economics is off topic for this board anyways
>>
>>103228485
>is off topic for this board anyways
the fact this thread is still up is proof mods don't care or are asleep in the middle of the day
>>
>>103228534
eh, they occasionally enjoy off topic threads too
their tolerance to specific topics is dependent on who's jannying
but i noticed all of /g/ jannies have at least *some tolerance to interesting stuff. even jay.
>>
>>103228567
I haven't noticed that at all as my pass spends more time banned than not, and in fact it's still banned until tomorrow
>>
>>103227495
sars is very correct sars android and AMD are great value sars!
>>
>>103228608
same here. except i dont evade
but i do tend to veer off topic and sometimes i dont get banned for a month at a time
and it isnt because i play nice, not at all
usually i post for one day and then the next 3 i wait for the ban to pass though
maybe mods are sympathetic? maybe jannies and mods realized they can ban me all they want, i will not submit to the pressure? why didnt i get permabanned for a fallacious reason then?
we can only speculate. but us, users, do get some leeway. sometimes at least...
>>
>>103228648
>except i don't evade
it's okay if you don't want to admit and risk getting banned again, just blink repeatedly if that's the case
if not, that's fucking gay
don't submit to the jannies, just reset your router, clear your cookies and you're good to go.
but it's wild, sometimes I get away with blatant shit like the posts on this thread, only to get a 3-day for posting uoh or ywnbaw
>>
>>103228710
>but it's wild, sometimes I get away with blatant shit like the posts on this thread, only to get a 3-day for posting uoh or ywnbaw
i guess were having a mildly interesting discussion then
or at least were not bothering the other users too much

i still dont evade tho
a) forcing a new ip lease takes several hours with my isp
b) it would be dignifying this place as being worth evading
finally, c) i would have a permaban attached to my memes. and i like my memes
i could evade easily, but i have ideological as well as practical reasons not to

that sucks. I can get a new ip in a few seconds

counter point: silently obeying the ban is acknowledging the jannies have power over you
>>
>>103228863
you got serious answers though
and if encoded messages is all you want there exist a couple apps that do just that
you could write your own app
but neither solution will help with an os-level backdoor
the attacker can read your texts as you input them, and your interlocutor's- as you read em
if you really need private communication, encode your texts with an OTP, intersperse the cyphertext within matching words, and then the channels of communication are irrelevant to you
you could post your message in a newspaper's lonely hearts section for all you care
or you go taliban and talk face to face
you cannot wiretap a camel ;)
>>
>>103228863
you had your answer in the very first posts itt
>>
>>103228900
>counter point: silently obeying the ban is acknowledging the jannies have power over you
yes and no at the same time
yes, obviously, because it validates their power
no, because if i evade that means i actually care about not getting banned
a couple years ago i survived a couple hours on this board at a time, on average
this regime lasted a while, but at a certain point the jany or the mods just gave up, kek
i was getting banned for ywnbaw's only to repost the exact same thing as my first post, once i came back from the ban
also to taunt them to show them how little i cared about the ban proper
>>
>>103227141
1. Install GrapheneOS
2. Enable airplane mode
3. Only connect through a usb-c to Ethernet adapter
4. Don't run proprietary software. don't give apps any permissions other than network. isolate every app with private space, especially if it has additional permissions
5. Reboot phone every day
>>
>>103228961

they probably didn't even remember you anymore.
if you want to be a itch on their balls you need to overwhelm them, hence the ban evasion
