You can now pay almost $400 to own the ability to pay a subscription for an operating system that doesn't even run locally.

What a time to be alive.

what's wrong with geezers who feel entitled to "own" everything? newsflash: you never owned windows, you just licensed it from microsoft. you're always connected to ms servers anyway to receive updates and send telemetry and access onedrive, which already needs a subscription. this is a minor change. your cringe "digital rights" movement is never happening because you're all aging millennial incels waiting to get kicked out of your houses when mommy dies. zoomers are fine with subs.

You wrote all of that and totally missed the point

time-sharing and thin clients existed before your millennial ass was born. we're retvrning to tradition where you rent access and submit to those above you in the hierarchy.

Shouldn't it be much cheaper if it's just a streaming client?
We are operating on the laws of greed, not on the laws of logic.

oh i guess that's why my authoritarian government developing its own locked down linux derivative because microsoft sanctioned its online-only operating system that's impossible to use anymore the into future we move and it's... okay in your opinion

Dumb terminals, 1970s tech, now with copilot, recall and telemetry.

I knew some guys that got funding to do this in 2000. They pocketed the money and never made anything but this is exactly what they were shilling. Anyway, nice to see the mainframe model come back. Some will benefit from it.

To kick off this project they should have launched with every version of Fallout being free with the subscription and sold everyone a big Pip-Boy arm (get it, ARM) wrist worn PC.

What's it like constantly thinking about a people that is one-fourth of one percent of the entire population of the world constantly and bringing them up when nobody else asked?
>>
>>103236483
Entitled shits, thinking just because they bought something they own that thing. What's next, are they going to claim housing is a human right rather than slaving away for the privilege of maybe having a roof over their heads if they keep working hard enough?

>they launched this the same day microsoft flight simulator 2024 released, a "cloud-streamed" game that 24 hours later, still doesn't work because of overloaded servers

I own my copy of Linux and I own my copy of GEGL and I take full advantage of what it means to own something. You are just stupid for not taking serious the implications of ownership

the world's economy would collapse if all the centralized servers of Adobe and Office 365 went down. The software I use stays mine and doesn't have this problem.

its an outdated OS and I know that meme about updoot. But really its deprecated

Worst of all - Windows 7 Can't run GIMP 3
