Applying for a job and theyre making me consent to a social media background check by a company called Sterling.Anyone heard of this or know what it entails? Is it enough that everything of mine is on private, or do I still need to go back and make sure I didnt write anything stupid in the 5th grade lol.Do they search based on my full name, or will they reverse search accounts associated with my email address and phone number too? If so, is there any easy way for me to find this stuff myself and scrub it? Thank you in advance, appreciate any help bros
fucking hell
>>103237589its sterling and they are using fake job ads to mae you give them money.that job never existed
>>103237610wdym? I dont have to pay for it. my employer is just making me do the background check with Sterling
>>103237632>my employeryou said you were applying, it's not your employer
>>103237589>Is it enough that everything of mine is on privateThey demand that you un-private your social media, or add them so they can view it all. I've heard of that happening many times.
>>103237589>>103238055Meant to say they MIGHT do that. Not that they will. It could just be a simple check to see if you're posting about Uncle Adolf on your Twitter account.
>>103238066thats fineI was more wondering if they use data scrubbers to for example connect an old email address to my name and look at social media / forum accounts registered to that email address etc.
>>103237589you don't negotiate with terrorists
>>103238209I mean I just found your Reddit account, and I'm not getting paid to scrub through your entire history to see if you're a good fit for the company culture, so you should probably practice better opsec online.

>>103237589only agree if they allow you to look at their tax history
