rec for black friday?

I bought a W550S off the local marketplace. It was only 40 dollars with 16GB of RAM. I wanted to check out a BSD. I chose GhostBSD because I like the Mate desktop, and having ghost in the name sounds cool.
Installer doesn't let me select a hostname
Installer doesn't support full disk encryption.
Audio doesn't work out of the box.
Can't adjust the brightness in the GUI.
This model has been around for 10 years. I went back to Debian after an hour.
Why is BSD like this? I thought it was supposed to be amazing. Do they claim it is super stable because there is nothing to do once you boot it?

Whats the best, cheap laptop?
>>
>>103242520
There isn't one really. Its spiritual successor is the X1 Nano.

Best deals are at end of october for Lenovo, and most other venders. Everyone knows this now.
Black friday is just a jewish trick now with worse sales.

It's the Z13 unironically.
X1 Nano and X13 don't have full size keys / edge-to-edge keyboard like the Z13.
Build quality of the Z13 is underrated imo.
Only thing I don't like about the Z13 is the LCD hinge doesn't go full 180 degrees (flat).

>X13, X1 nano, Z13
>all LPDDR
why can't we have dual sodimm on 13 inch business laptop anymore?
>>
>>103243228
That's like bitching that we can't use 2.5" drives in a 13 inch anymore.
SODIMM is fucking slow compared to LPDDR.
For AMD, the faster ram makes a very noticeable difference in iGPU performance.

I recently got an X220 what Upgrades should I make to it? It has an SSD already and Bluetooth, I was thinking of getting more RAM, a USB Card, USB-A to C Adapter, doing a USB-C Charing Port Mod at some point along with Flashing a Custom BIOs and getting a New Battery...Also possibly a Dock, but are there any other Upgrades worth doing, I was thinking of changing the Screen at some point to an OLED if possible, just as many Mods as possible for my Daily.

Based, what did it need?

When people say E Series have worse build quality - what does this actually mean?
