how do install miniconda on fish?

zsh needs the autosuggestion and syntax highlight module but then it's very good. fish is better ootb.
>>
>>103245136
you need a module for autosuggestions? zhs is so bloated idk why its so popular.

Errm I'm cool with bash jfl

It's not built-in, no. Another nice thing about fish is the manpage parsing to show options of commands. I wouldn't say zsh is bloated for an interactive shell. It just doesn't come with all the batteries included unlike fish, probably because it's pretty old at this point.

The closer to bash the better, so zsh.

is that what people are doing when they call fish faster and more lightweight? comparing fish defaults to a heavily customized zsh framework?
or does vanilla zsh have a bloated codebase or something that makes fish so much ”lighter” despite doing so much more ootb
>>
bash just works and I don't need more

Yes

Nope. Pretty similar to bash.

fish since its comfy

fish is a nicer experience but the lack of bash compatibility makes it impossible to recommend and a pain in the ass to use
i fucking hate having to choosing between writing shell scripts in fish or converting my syntax to bash so i just use zsh with syntax highlighting and autocomplete and it's close enough
the tab completion is noticeably slower on zsh, especially when you're over ssh (which i often am) but i'll take that tradeoff

it's missing magic to pipe stuff into python functions.
it needs a special pipe operator that inserts the stdout of the left side of the pipe as the first argument of the python function that is getting piped into

I use Zsh for tab autocomplete. Don't feel any inclination to change it... I had to add some syntactic highlighting (e.g. green text for executable files).
