Has anyone here used GameMaker? Is it beginner friendly? How difficult would learning GameMaker's language be?

I just recently started tinkering with it.
If you can pickup an oop language or Python then you can do GameMaker. The engine does have limitations but you can get creative and do neat stuff.

It is beginner friendly. There are lots of resources. The language is nice, you won't have difficulties with it.

Gamemaker is fine but 1.4 was the last good version before it trooned out requiring internet to use it and login but that doesnt work on the new version so we all staying on 1.4.

I'm pretty sure you need to authenticate to use 1.4 too, don't you? It so you need a constant internet connection to the new versions?

Just use something like Love2D instead.
