>>103282790No, scaling is much lower because so many data fetches don't even leave the cache. However, I would definitely get 3600C18 as a minimum because there's no real price difference. Going up to 3600C16 is around $20 now which is hard to justify on a DDR4 system. It does have one advantage in binning though - if you've got a borderline motherboard, say a B350 or cheap B450, then getting 3600C16* means you're not as subject to the DRAM lottery because only a few ICs can hit that speed reliably. Might be the difference between stability and not.*By which I mean 3600-16-19-19 @ 1.35V. CAS latency scales with voltage so beware "trap" kits with eg. 16-22-22@1.5V. Those are bad bins.

>>103283278I am aware they are, but the issue is that they will probably price these cards (I haven't looked to see if they have mentioned an MSRP) at about the same level as AMD. Except AMD is going to be releasing new cards soonish, and presumably stick near the same price point as the current generation. Meaning that it makes no sense to buy these cards unless you specifically want something outdated and overpriced compared to the competitors on a per dollar basis. If Intel is always playing catch up, they will never be able to carve out a part of the market for themselves for dedicated GPUs. That's my criticism. Whatever their plans are for what comes after this is going to require them to leapfrog into the next generation so they aren't always behind. Hey can I get some advice on how to repair an external hard-drive? The case melted slightly, but I think the problem is just the thing connecting the case to the wire (I don't know any of the technical names for this). So I think everything to do with all the microchips inside the thing is fine, if I can just replace the connector I could access all the data on it, and put it onto something else. Took it to a couple of phone-repair guys who didn't know what they were looking at, I was referred to a data-recovery center that's based in California whose starting bid was $700. I feel like all I really need to do is find a guy who can like swap out the connector part, or just like access the microchips in the hard-drive, and I could get it done for like $200. Where would I go to try to get this done or looked at?

Old games, while they can have good art, are low fidelity. Look at a great game like Doom. I can understand a diminishing returns argument about modern rasterization especially (which becomes performance prohibitive quickly), but personally my complaints about modern games aren't related to graphics or performance generally, as I have a Geforce card. I'm much more annoyed by the content and gameplay
>>1032862554070 doesn't outperform the 7800 xt. it also has less vram
>>103286638I think you get multiple voltage operation modes which I would use adaptive mode and enter 1.38v, set the ratio and set a slightly aggressive LLC you would probably want to see vdroop in the ~1.32v range under heavy loads like rendering and P95
>>103286695You're missing the point (as the 4070 massively outperforms the 7800 XT while having better image quality in practical usage scenarios).>muh vramNo
>microcenter ram negative reviews seem to actually be the fault of the bundle asus board's dodgy ram compatibility and stability>has been a running problem for a year, even after bios updates>just tons of memtest errors, 1 of 2 slots not working, not running at expo timings, etcLovely. I am returning the mobo since I am also having issues and going to buy an asrock board
Was looking at the 2TB MX500. I already have 2 of these, but wanted 1 more.Still a bit much imo, even if the quality is there.I'm gonna keep shopping around.
>>103286729You'd have to be retarded to buy that at that price, as you can get fast NVMe drives for less
>>103286756Maybe he's out of m2 slots
>>103286688You had a whole 2 out of 20 games on that list that you could argue have poor performance, I can pick at least a quarter of the Nvidia sponsored games that run just as bad, if all of those games ran fine, there would be no need for a temporal upscaling technique to try and claw back image quality and performance. The backroom deals shit is funny ASF especially since it's just handing out a taste of their own medicine (see examples like gameworks and overuse of tesselation), games don't need these "features" that only exist to allow devs to be lazier with how they craft games.
>>103286729yes worth getting those, but wait for ~$50/TBsales coming up
>>103286773>>103286773>You had a whole 2 out of 20 gamesI show four here >>103286311, and there are others. Don't get me started on how trash REm4ke and HZD were>gameworksGameworks was extra, advanced features that could be disabled if you didn't want to use it (or had a Radeon card)>tessellationJust like RT, it's in the DirectX spec. Not Nvidia's fault if Radeon can't keep upNeither of those cases are equivalent to AMD blocking superior technology because it doesn't want its shit technology to be compared to the superior tech.>"features" that only exist to allow devs to be lazier with how they craft gamesRasterization and native resolution are dead, and good riddance to them.https://youtu.be/zD9kS1nOuyU?si=kD2ppdq-Sbi5iAqZ&t=550
>>103286696ill have to brush up more so basically i wunna keep it in 1.3v range for stabilty cheers
oh no I'm not asking my question ITT I'll wait
>>103286838>Rasterization and native resolution are dead, and good riddance to them. Finally got you to say something with conviction that shows the hole in your thought process compared to 99% of other gamers. This is the polar opposite of what a vast majority of people want, it will turn into an unattainable spiral for another 5-10 years to the average consumer, instead of making this stupid fart huffing race of how many rays and reflections could get traced why not make an intelligent use of these new technologies like Metro EE did. That game runs like a dream on any RT capable hardware and the lighting both makes a tangible, positive difference in both how you see and experience the game.
Any advice on the build?I've already bought the CPU, GPU, PSU and case.https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/9bzBPJ

is it sufficient, as a gamer, to compare gpus by their passmark score or should i be looking more in depth?
>>103287008>passmarkas bad as user benchmarkjust try and find the cpu + ram + gpu combo some randoms chucked up on youtube, regular sites are outdated.Sometimes GamersNexus and Hardware Unboxed steves will have the combos your afterunless their using the spesific games oc windows version etc its a total crapshoot
Bros, whats the best 1440p oled?
>>103287048The one you build yourself :)
>>103287008Techpowerup, check the last pages of their GPU reviews to get an idea of relative performance, and look for benchmarks of few UE5 titles to get an idea of what you can expect in modern games. You can only compare Geforce vs Geforce or Radeon vs Radeon or Arc vs Arc, as the features each vendor offers are quite different. Simple FPS doesn't paint nearly the whole picture>>103286951>an unattainable spiralDLSS allows midrange cards to easily drive 4K displays. Midrange can't path trace well yet (although the performance is probably tolerable to most people), but by RTX 60, midrange will be running path tracing at full resolution 1080p, which can be reconstructed to a higher resolution like 4K.DLSS is really insanely good. There was never a usable 4K GPU before DLSS. DLSS is as transformative as VRR in my opinion. Back in the day I hated V-sync, especially since you had to buy overpowered hardware to get a locked 60 FPS with V-sync, as any drop below that would cause the game to drop to 30 FPS. VRR is way more efficient, because if you drop to 55 FPS, it's no problem. Same with DLSS: 4K was brutal on hardware before high quality upscaling. Now anyone can get faux 4K quality in every game >>103284463. Keep in mind that the 4090 cannot run full 4K without DLSS in most recent, demanding games.>like Metro EEIt didn't run well on Radeon initially, and of course Radeon doesn't have DLSS to assist with performance. Metro EE is still mediocre on anything but a 7900 XTX if you restrict your options to Radeon cards. Modern games use software RT as a minimum. The point of hardware like RTX cards is that they can ACCELERATE RT workloads: in other words, the RT can be better looking and/or faster than non accelerated RThttps://youtu.be/l5Y7nOtXM38?si=j1FwgFWq7j93SmK1&t=272tldr: not an unobtainable spiral

I want to upgrade from my Vega 64, 5600X, 2x 16GB 3600 and I have found a used 3070 zotac white for $237. Should I buy it for better 1440p fps than my current card or are there better alternatives just to be ready at least for, till UDNA?
>>103287150skip 3000 and 4000 series both extremely poor value 3000 series had yield problems 4000 series have everything problems bad pcb designs bad 12vhpwr designsget a used 2080ti or 6800xt cheap or 7900xtx anything else pointlesschuck a aliexpress 5700x in there cheap and send iti had a v56 hated it but that was down to amds terrible cooler wtf where they thinking going from aio's back to blowers then dreadful triple fan vape chamber crap!?
>>103287162*5700x3d
>>103287150As long as the card works well, it's fine. Don't expect great image quality in new games. You'll have to optimize settings and use pretty aggressive DLSS to get good framerates. It'll be a massive upgrade over the V64 though
