These days they all seem to be made with pouch-type cells (which I don't like because every one I've had has swelled up sooner or later). The only ones I can find are these old ones from Anker, but they only charge using MicroUSB and charge/discharge at 10W max. I would consider it at a bargain price given the dated tech, but £40 for it in nearly 2025 is absurd. How about roll-your-own solutions, using empty power bank shells (without the cells) from AliExpress anyone have any experence with them? You buy and insert your own 18650 cells into them. Some have PD output. Neat solution or certain housefire?
>>103296550No because then they wouldn't make any money if you didn't have to keep buying disposable power banks. The only company that makes decent ones, but not durable ones is Xtar.
>>103296550search for "xtar" nice little 2x 18650 cell bank that's swappable. it's lower energy density than some of these flat packs but that's just the nature of it.
>>103296674>>103296754Can you at least show us a picture? Xtar makes a bunch of shit. Not the OP, but I have a few pairs of 18650s I will likely never use and this seems like a decent way to put them to work.
